We've blagged Sky newbies (or those who left it 12+ months ago) this cracking deal on a 12mth contract via this special Sky line rent & broadband* link.
The offer goes live at 10am on Fri 19 Jun – from then, you'll get a code you can use immediately, but you can grab a code via the link now and Sky will alert you when it goes live, with a link to claim the offer. Codes can be redeemed any time before 11.59pm on Thu 25 Jun.
- A £100 credit we've blagged is applied automatically on your first bill. As this happens before you're asked for any payment, assuming you don't incur any call or other charges, the credit covers all payments for most of the first year - so you won't owe anything till a £5.35 balancing payment in the final month.

Back in July when mine was soon ending I called Sky and got a retention deal for £10 a month for a year, covering both broadband and line rental.

I've gone onto BT Fibre, got TCB and a preloaded MasterCard making over £250 cashback against it. Not as good as £6 for the whole year but very good deal nonetheless.

Just linking to the £10 all incl retention deal currently available in case anyone else has missed it
Been waiting for a good deal - Sky broadband/phone bill will be going up to £25/month within the next week.
Plusnet have £120 cashback (via TCB) at the moment. £192 yearly line rental with free unlimited broadband on a 12 month contract. So £6/month is pretty much the best out there at the moment.
Hope to see a good Sky deal next year.

I doubt Sky will offer that good a deal. As mentioned above Talktalk look the cheapest (bear in mind they don't have the greatest reputation) going through a cashback service or via the link in today's moneysavingexpert email with a £120 shopping voucher thrown into the deal.
I'm looking for a good deal as of today. You can set activation a month ahead or so, therefore you wont lose much of the nearly-free Sky contract we're on.

11 May 16#1487
Yeah that's what it looks like.
I just almost gave TalkTalk £270 for 18 months line rental with free broadband + £150 topcashback. However since I have been a customer of TalkTalk's before I wasn't sure if the cashback would track.
Anyone know if "new customers" means "not had talktalk in over 12 months" as I was assuming? Don't want to take chances.

So how are people going about this then?
- cancelling with Sky 30 days before and hoping for a good deal by their retentions team?
- holding out for a good offer with another provider who will cancel your Sky line rental/broadband when transferring your number across?
- a bit of both?

My year ends on the 3rd July. The last payment before it goes up to regular prices is 3rd June.
Anyone know when's the latest you can cancel the contract? For me is it before the 3/7, or before the 3/6, or sooner? Looking to make a smooth transition to a new package without extra charges.

A family member went for this deal when it was on and I told them to go via a cashback website. Of course, it didn't track but I told them to submit a claim. Lo and behold, £70 was paid.
£5 for a year of line rental and unlimited broadband is a great deal, getting paid £5.50/month is even better.

WOW, This deal just keeps on giving!! Just had my cashback for £135 paid (£140 less £5 quidco fee). Thanks for posting this update, it prompted me to check my quidco as it was tracked for such a long time I had given up on it half expecting it to be declined. Needless to say, I withdrew the money instantly!!
Makes my sky subscription for the Year £165 = £13.75 per month as I was able to combine it with the £25 p/m TV deal that was also on at the time.

i have got the letter for the £4 a month for the sky talk evenings and weekend extra. Can I just change the package to sky pay as you go online in my account manually? Is this will make me lose existing free broadband and half price line rental discount? Anybody has the answer? Thanks.

I just talked to Sky about any potential penalties for moving to the basic Sky Talk package (PAYG) instead of being automatically switched to the Evenings & Weekends package (£4) in Dec. They checked and said that it was OK to switch to basic Sky Talk (PAYG) a few days before the end of Dec and I wouldn’t lose any existing discounts.

I need some help please. I installed this deal at my house I was meant to move into, unfortunately this is no longer happening.
I need to cancel this, I stupidly called Sky and they said it would cost £21.
Would I be able to cancel due to the price increase?
Or, the lady on the phone said they can move it to my parents for free, they already have Fibre optic BB and landline with VM, can they have both?

You mean 12 month contract I'm guessing. And I'm also guessing you mean how much will be payable when the contract ends and the £100 credit runs out.
£5.35 + the extra 50p x remaining months (November - June = 8?) = £9.35
About an extra £4.
reabo101
17 Oct 15#1465
So if i cancel the £4 a month, how much will of paid by the end of the 2 month contract?
JUst wondering on the over all cost now due to the changes....
j2theg
17 Oct 15#1464
If someone does speak to Sky could they confirm if switching to "pay as you talk" simply means the extra 50p line rental increase or.. not?
It still looks it does to me mind - projected bills up until January are £8.70/month, covered by the £100 credit.
EDIT: I think the "If you do decide to change to another package you will lose your exclusive introductory offer price" wording means switching will mean you lose the £4/month calls package introductory offer, not the Broadband deal we've signed up for. So switching to "pay as you talk" means call charges go back to 0, assuming you don't use a landline.

I looked at changing my Sky Talk package online to the basic one, but it says:
"If you do decide to change to another package you will lose your exclusive introductory offer price".
So does this tie you into accepting the new "deal"?
Grrr, someone really ought to do something about these bait-and-switch deals, and also about the weasel words in the 'explanatory' letter. They always seem to paint a picture of them offering you the easiest option and the best value, which of course results in additional cost by default. :-(

16 Oct 15#1459
I don't like them changing a plan mid-contract like that, it's still a good deal, but it's not what people signed up for on a 12 month contract.
You can bet if you'd tried to leave or change the terms in November they'd have tried to sting you for the rest of the contract.
j2theg
9 Oct 15#1458
Got a letter this morning about the cheeky move to the Weekend call package costing £4 a month.
As far as I can see you just need to switch back to "pay as you talk" going through the links after logging in to your sky account. It takes you through a payment process but you'll see the amount is 0. Then log out and log back in and you'll see in the billing section that future payments are only 50p extra - due to the line rental increase.
This is assuming you weren't already on a paid call package and were happy with "pay as you talk" for instance if, like me, you don't have a landline phone.

In order to qualify for Sky Existing customer cashback on Broadband upgrades you must not be an existing Broadband customer with sky. For example re-grading your broadband package from the basic package to Unlimited or fibre does not qualify for cashback.
I guess I never knew this before. I still had 2 months left on my contract so believe I would have been charged if I cancelled early as well? Oh well we live and learn:)

So I've now got 12 Months of Fiber for £120 plus the £6 from the original deal so overall about £126 for a years Fibre! Although as I've just started a new contract I expect I might need to pay for a full months line rental at the end of the contract, I guess time will tell on that one...

Did a hard reboot...now with better stats. Would recommend this after firmware updates.
Sky SR102 stats:
Broadband Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 18226 kbps 1295 kbps
Line Attenuation 23.5 dB 15.0 dB
Noise Margin 6.2 dB 5.5 dB
Morning guys, thought I do an update on my current line stats so far. Added day 4 & 5.
It appears my line is starting to turn poo now. Download speed have been dramatically reduced. :disappointed:
Has anyone noticed their Sky router rebooted early hours this morning as I swear mine rebooted. Logs confirmed this & my suspect turns out that Sky has updated the routers firmware, which contains some general bug fixes and improvements as well as support for IPv6.
It appears some folks are having issues with the new firmware affecting older WiFi devices but LAN works fine.
Not sure if this new firmware has affected my line speeds.
Old firmware version 2.1r.3761.R
Old DSL Firmware Version A2pv6F038m.d24j
New Firmware Version 2.88.1086.R
New DSL Firmware Version A2pv6F039m.d24m

Your right there. Currently using all supplied Sky SR102 cables & microfilter but might consider changing supplied dog poo Sky RJ11 cable & microfilters for something better. Not all cables & microfilters are created equal.
My other gripe with tight ass Sky is that their SR102 router is it doesn't come with Gigabit Ethernet or AC WiFi. Other big ISP's are offering better routers as standard.
Sky SR102 stats:
Broadband Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 19776 kbps 1421 kbps
Line Attenuation 23.5 dB 14.9 dB
Noise Margin 3.1 dB 6.6 dB
U might get faster speeds in few days but not much, mine started from 17mb and now it touches 20mb , which is still better than ee who capped me to 16mb.

So far so good. Sky Broadband Unlimited activated on Tues. Can't grumble free broadband with new phone line for 12mths. Now got existing BT phone line & new Sky phone line on site.
Would say slightly slower download + marginally faster for upload than old ISP. Could sacrifice the upload slightly for faster download if Sky would allow it inline with the old ISP performance.
These HMHC blocks are PITA that affects large ISP's. Last ISP worked wonders without VPN/Proxies.:disappointed:
Sky SR102 stats:
Broadband Link Downstream Upstream

10 Jul 152#1410
Ok guys are you ready for the deal of the year to make this deal the best ever?
From today Sky have now changed the contract of there Fibre to 12 Months rather than the previous 18 months and are offering half price Sky Fibre unlimited for £10 a month for 12 months making with this deal it only £120 for a year of Fibre BUT it gets better... Quidco are paying out £110 for existing customers upgrading to Sky Fibre so you could get a years Fibre for only £10!
Of course this might mean an extra months line rental as your contract as started and there is a risk quidco will not track or pay out but if it does its an amazing deal!
My sky does not go live until Monday but I will be upgrading as soon as my account allows
If you have had connection with the Sky router like it sounds and then it has had problems, then you are moved over to Sky and it sound more like a router fault.
Mine finally transferred this morning by the look of it, as I was getting ready for work. My PlusNet just died suddenly, checked the router and no connection, then plugged the Sky one in while getting ready and after a little bit the amber light stopped flashing, went solid amber then after a few seconds turned white for the first time. Unfortunately I was in a rush and couldn't test but got a text an hour later from Sky saying I am now live.
What did they say when you rang them and got them to change the profile, did they do a line test at the same time, or did you not bother?
You won't fix it without calling them. I am 99% certain this isn't provisioning as suggested above.

I'm at work now. Do you suggest trying my old talk talk router. Or asking sky if router is faulty. ?
nige182
10 Jul 15#1406
If the light goes off I am guessing a router problem, call Sky. My amber light flashes and then goes solid and stays solid amber, I cannot connect at all but then my PlusNet broadband is still active. I was meant to be on Sky on Tuesday, and my phone line switched then but not my broadband. Sky have sent it back to Openreach to check the connection at their end.
pKaTz
10 Jul 15#1405
The router won't connect not. Just an flashing amber light. Which turns solid amber. Then goes off.

Absolutely disgusting. The amount of time i've wasted on this is silly.
Apparently because it's a New Build property, and where the nature of the building is, they have to resurrect a new pole...and Sky and Bt are refusing to put a new pole there, because it's going to cost £800
so if i want this deal, apparently ive got to pay for the pole myself now? absolute disgraceful haha
Sky along with BT can take a running jump. i've had problems with them in the past. and whilst i'm at it - don't even try and get sense from the Customer service agent monkeys at Sky. they're not clicked on in the slightest. 3 hours on the phone trying to get an answer - great customer service SKY
Sticking with VIRGIN MEDIA Fibre Optics. BT are a complete joke and so is Sky. Refusing to put a pole in the ground..for a Newbuild...which i have to pay £800 for, ha you bunch of disgraceful animals BT and Sky

Erm, please get your facts right before commenting on others' opinions.
If you add sky tv to this deal they charge full line rental of £16.40 instead of the 8.20. You may get offer of 35% discount instead of 50% but thats still about £10 line rental each month. Its apparently in their terms and conditions that if you add TV, you pay full line rental. Stupid but true.
Therefor, opening a seperate account is cheaper because instead of £22 you end up paying £9.66 for TV. And keep the free broadband.

However, had to break my contract with talk talk to get it so am now waiting on the £100 voucher off sky as i have just paid the final talk talk bill so if this goes through as planned (confirmed with SKY agent) then ill be very happy indeed.
Final note, my internet speed is higher than talk talk previously (5mb) compared to SKY (7mb) but does go off and on, am waiting for the 10 day period to be over to ensure that this is caused by the "training" of the line.

I got mine installed and they guaranteed me 3.00 down but am getting around 7.00 down which is a massive drop from the 50 from virgin...or you would think so but the 7.00 is running 2x iPhones an ipad, PS4 online smart TV, XBMC and Sky F5 box and it handles it no probs which is kinda surprising but no complaints from even when streaming 720 HD movies admittedly not all run at same time but still impressive.

It should detect regular disconnections like they have described pretty instantly and re adjust accordingly. Getting the profile reduced will stop the major problems sorted quicker.
qwerta369
8 Jul 15#1395
You don't need to call Sky. Your line is behaving how it is supposed to. It the 10 day stabilisation period. The line is stabilising. It is training. It is determining the maximum stable speed that your line can handle. Wait the 10 days. The disconnections will stop.
andrewhislop
8 Jul 15#1394
The line will still be settling down, as the poster above says, chances are the line can't handle the higher speeds, you should ring sky tech support, they will likely place you on a lower profile thats more stable to stop the disconnections, if that doesn't work they should send an engineer out.
gamesaregood

Oh dear, sounds like you might have some noise / interferance thats causing the line to be unreliable at the higher speeds.
Can you post a picture of your line stats from the router? I think they can be found under Maintenance --> Router --> Show Statistics.

Mine went live on Monday. I was on Talktalk with speeds of around 6.93 down 0.81 up.
Monday evening speeds were great - 13.27 down 1.12 up . fantastic!
Tuesday no problems
Today I get home from work and I am told by family that the internet keeps disconnecting. When I check it
Does. On and off. On and off.:disappointed:
I thought things were getting better too.

My bill shows £110 credited, however when doing the maths, only £100 was applied to the calculation, i.e. after taking away router delivery and the first months' subscription then adding the £5 upfront payment, I have a balance of around £84 instead of £94.
Considered asking for the missing £10 to be honoured but think that might be cheeky, after all the deal was only for £100.
Anyone else have the same anomaly?

had an email from SKY - has anyone got a similar one
A summary of your new subscriptions
Just to confirm your first month’s bill will be £89.85 and will be taken on or just after 21/07/2015. As this is your first payment it may differ from your ongoing payments, and includes any pre-payments or charges you may have incurred since your Sky services went active.
Please note: the table below only outlines your new subscriptions. The Total Subscription Charges figure below may differ from your first monthly bill amount shown above as it doesn't take account of any additional delivery charges or upfront fees.
Please note that your £6.95 router delivery charge will be added to your next bill or the one after that, depending on when in the month we receive your order. This doesn't include any offers that may be applicable (these will be reflected in your Sky bill).
Not sure what that 89.85 is for. when I log in, mysky doesnt have an update of my bill - so not sure just to wait or ring them up and ask what it's for.....

Just had my first bill via email which is a tad more than I thought it would be
"A summary of your new subscriptions
Just to confirm your first month’s bill will be £84.85 and will be taken on or just after 21/07/2015."
Have had problems with sky billing before years ago when with them (kept billing me for 2 years after I left) so wouldn't be surprisied if they did take £84.85 rather than the minus it should be.
From what I can tell its not going to affect us as the price increase would only apply after our free 12 months, so hopefully there will be some good deals to change to then!

My switchover went fairly well - although my caller id was never activated and apparently you have to call cust svcs to get it activated (free), there's no way to change it online. Also it took a day for incoming calls to be routed through.
My mother, though, is having a terrible experience. She had no service by the end of her switchover day last Fri and no communication from Sky. I had to call them up and of course they needed to speak to the account holder, so I had to switch both my phone and my mobile into hands-free so they could talk to each other. The upshot is that she has a "tie pair" issue and was originally quoted 48 hours to fix, after the weekend. Now apparently BT have quoted to Sky a new "update day" of Friday, which sounds rather ambiguous. :-(
What's worse is that Sky can't even redirect her line to a mobile as the line never got activated. I had no idea that switchovers could be so troublesome and I feel bad for suggesting the switch. I can see why some customers just stick with their provider as they are afraid of moving ...

6 Jul 15#1370
Ah ok, yes its a bit of a postcode lottery with ADSL, its all about how far away from the telephone exchange you are I'm afraid. If your next to or very close to it you will get the full speed (assuming you don't have any issues with your line of course!). Otherwise it just goes down the further away you go...
bonzobanana
6 Jul 15#1369
I think thats what Sky claim is the maximum speed of this broadband. How many people get that speed is another matter. You'd think a good preportion would get close to that if they are going to claim that speed. I'm in a rural area though in a fairly small town.
Just had an email from plusnet that their telephone line monthly cost is going up. Somehow that was quite pleasing on the very day I'd gone to a new provider and wasn't paying that monthly fee for a year.

My connection went live today. I love the sky router very stylish and the happy internet face. My connection speed is 7.5MB download and 1MB upload. It's not 17MB but its a bit better than my previous provider for some reason which was about 6.2MB but then I hadn't tested the line recently on the old ISP so perhaps it would have been the same. More than happy with 7.5MB to be honest.
So far so good. I wonder if my plusnet router has any resell value?

Has anyone looked at the cost of upgrading to Infinity from this deal? Mine goes live on the 13th of July and although I should get good speeds on ADSL (We will see) I'm tempted to upgrade it to 40Mbps... I know this would mean it would turning it into a 18 Month Contract etc.. so would be something I need to do after a short amount of time.
From what I can make out it would be:
£10 for 6 Months + £20 for 12 Months = £300
6 Months of Line Rental = £99.60
£115.50 Cashback (Top Cash Back for Existing Customers Upgrading to Fibre)
£15.78 a Month over the 18 Months or £22.20 if for any reason the cashback didn't track etc...

Mine goes live this week, only worry is they estimated my speed at 4-6Mbps, however I had 16Mbps last time I was with Sky at this address, I can't see any reason I would get less now than I had a year ago with Sky, a drop from 70Mbps to 14-16Mbps I can deal with, a drop all the way to 4-6Mbps, I might struggle with that.
nnenne
4 Jul 15#1358
Jack you have to be kidding me right? If it runs out in 4 months then you start paying surely. If you open a new account you'll still pay. End of the year the amount you pay will be the same surely.
j2theg
4 Jul 15#1357
Absolutely no idea. Don't think Biscuity Jacko mentioned this.
j2theg
4 Jul 151#1355
This is pretty funny. Let's assume Jack the biscuit or whatever has correct reasoning in what he is talking about. His reasoning could go thus:
- If someone wants to add TV for say, £25 a month, they would expect to pay £25 a month
- If someone signs up for Broadband at £5.35 for the year then this is what they expect
- Therefore by creating two separate accounts you pay £25 a month for the TV as expected + the small broadband charges
- Otherwise the £100 credit will be eaten up in the first 4 months, and then you will be paying 25 + 8.20 = 33.20 a month
- Either way you pay exactly the same over 12 months but his method ensures a steady, lower payment of £25 a month
Fair enough I say. Just he hasn't made that very clear. Let's hope he doesn't think you pay less over 12 months using his method. You clearly don't.
Hope this clears things up for everyone. Felt a bit guilty laughing at what looked like very bad maths.
karlie88 to j2theg
4 Jul 152#1356
By creating a second account for a TV package...could you not get a half price offer (which you wouldn't be able to get on the broadband account) AND a free TV/£100 M&S vouchers/£100 cashback?
nige182
4 Jul 151#1354
The point that was being made was that you get half price line rental and free broadband, whether or not you add Sky TV. The £100 credit is also there, whether or not you add Sky TV. So whether you add Sky TV to this account or open a new account, your net payments for the next year are the same. The only difference is if you add Sky TV to this account, you will eat through your £100 credit first and then start paying the charges for TV plus half price line rental for the remainder of the 12 months. If you open a separate account for TV, you would pay full TV for the full twelve months and nothing on this account which will be working its way through the credit.
The actual net effect over the year is exactly the same, the only difference is when you pay the money.

Hi Dalek, I never got a reply to my email. However got given a code so signed up!
Although I messed with the address as moving early August and seems the current tenant has sky. So waiting till it's turned off to amend address just before install. Hope it works out fine as this deal is smoking hot.

"If you cancel your broadband service without moving to another broadband provider..". This is not the case here. We are moving to another broadband provider - Sky.
secretmsg
26 Jun 15#1267
it clearly states
If you cancel your broadband service without moving to another broadband provider a £29.69charge will be applied to your account.
i even mentioned that but was not sure, ill wait for the letter from them first and then will ring them.

This makes me nervous. I wonder if the £32-ish figure I've had confirmed via email will be added to. Time to dig out the T&Cs in the original contract. Will do that later today or over the weekend.

I called EE cs and they told me £60 ish for remaining 5 months plus £29.62ish for switching over to other broadband if its not BT..
j2theg
26 Jun 15#1264
At the date the figure, about £32, was quoted there were 3 and a bit months left. Multiplied by £9.95, full rate for EE broadband (paid 12mo nths line rental up front at start of contract) = £32. But I'll be switching two weeks later with just under 3 months left on the contract so I wonder if the final figure will be a few quid less.
j2theg
26 Jun 15#1263
Yup, will be looking into that once the first bill appears. Don't want to jinx this almost too good to be true offer by demanding more too early.

26 Jun 15#1260
EE have sent a letter stating I'll incur a £105 exit fee. Previously they'd said it would be around £30. WTF?
Edit: I phoned EE, helpful lady said this letter had been sent in error and that the exit fee would be the original £30-something quoted. Got her to send an email confirming this.

Hello all,
I've decided to relinquish my code that I had won from hukdlr as a family member have confirmed that they are still stuck on their 24M BT contract (still have over more than 1+ year left) which will still have cost them much more even if SKY decided to contribute up to £100 to leave them. Yeah, shocking. I will never sign up to that long as there are no guarantees of what kind service levels would be like.

I've spent three hours trying to get this deal now, the method of ordering via the website is failing for some reason, the customer reps on the phone (3 different numbers) keep saying they can't do it, and the online chat customer service rep is bouncing me between both, being as unhelpful as anything.

Just added Ultrafast to my previous comment as noticed reading between the lines there are 2 fibre products offered but the fibre broadband estimate line speed is between 20 Mbps and 32 Mbps on my BT landline so the Superfast one would be better suited to me. I guess that SSE are reselling BTOR Fibre as their own just like Plusnet unless anyone knows better.
I got that code as well but I don't watch much Live TV myself but catchup mostly so broadband only for me. Thanks for the offer anyway.
hukdlr
25 Jun 15#1193
Can I tempt you by offering you (for free) Sky's "The Complete Bundle" for £25/month code ? It usually costs £75/month. It's for new customers only but I am not sure whether that means new to TV or a totally new Sky customer.
andrewhislop
25 Jun 15#1192
I would pay the extra £2.50 and get the 76mb deal if you are looking at that.
2 different products though, the SSE deal is good for Fibre, but works out a lot more than free, also bear in mind, if you want tv, at some point, if you sign with sky they are likely to ring and offer you any package for 50-75% off too. You can add fibe to the sky deal, works out cheaper than the SSE one.

I am on a monthly rolling contract with sky broadband , now i have used this deal under my wife's name. I choose the option, we don't have a active line in my flat. The installation date is on 10th July( Friday). When i called sky to cancel my existing contract, they said the notice period is only 14 days. Is it a good to cancel the existing contract now? so that line will go off on 9th July or wait until the new line is connected? or cancel on 29th June ( Monday), line will go off from 13th July.

Firstly I'm not a sir.
I joined virgin media nearly a year ago in a special deal and paid 12 months line rental in advance, £4 broadband for 6 months and then £17.50 per month and £100 account credit. The contract was to end convineintly early July 2015 ( which was great timing with the sky offer).
And now they've beaten sky's offer, so I'm set for another 12 months with great service from virgin media for nothing to pay this time round.

Can anyone answer this query, when I was filling the form on sky website online for deal,a question came up about do you want to keep existing line ,or get new line installed, there is already a bt line in flat,so don't need another line, but when you click on keep existing line,it asks for last two digits of phone number WTF ,I have just moved in to flat and phone line was being used by previous person, how do I know what the last two digits of a strangers phone number are,and if you click the other option sky think you want a new line installed, can anyone clarify this who has applied for this deal online ,with the same situation as me,thanks in advance:D
andrewhislop to joeann1
25 Jun 15#1170
Just click no to keeping the existing number, thats only if you already have a line in your name so they can port the number over, they know theres a line already installed so you won't get an engineer turning up to fit another one
Ok so 12 month free line rental ( just got email confirmation saying my phone line rental has been paid for 12 months- that was fast)
50mb fibre broadband - £7.50 per month
£100 account credit
So £7.50 x 12= £90
So at the end of the contract il be £10 in credit
So there paying me £10 to stay with them for 12 months free line Rental and broadband services.
Mind you this was from their 3rd party retention team as there aware of sky's offer and don't want to lose customers to them, the move gentleman I spoke to said he had other people to call too who had signed up to with there offer.

I was just about to ask naz12345678910 the same but merchantman beat me to it. VM offerred me 50mb bb + line rental for £19.49 a month for 12 months - hardly compares to Sky deal. Interested to see what naz12345678910's deal is.

I left virgin media for sky and got a call back today beating sky's deal, saying they'll pay off the line rental and, charge me £7.50 for my 50mb fibre and give me £100 credit so works out cheaper then sky. Obviously I accepted so now have call sky to cancel the switch brilliant.

Does anyone know when the date of contract ending with your current provider would be? My contract end date is 8 July and seeing as the Sky turnaround/cooling off period is 14 days if I leave ordering Sky until tomorrow I will also be out of contract with TalkTalk as 14 days from tomorrow would be 9 July
Flipd to ruil1990
25 Jun 15#1156
If transferring tel number & bb service from an existing supplier, the typical 30days minimum charged notice period is waived and the existing contract will end on the day the Sky services go live.
Considering you have already paid for the final month of your existing contract (services are billed and paid upfront), there should be no contractual cancellation fee unless the existing provider chooses to credit you for the pre-paid periodt between the new services going live and the end of the contractual period (potentially only a matter of days in these cases). There may also be a final rounding fee, which may effectively be in your favour
If you have supplier-provided equipment (e.g. YouView box) and wish to keep it, the situation is a little less clear as although you may have paid for all of the contractual period, the supplier may request (demand?) return of the equipment if the services are terminated prior to the end of the minimum contractual period.
Otherwise, example of TT early termination costs and obligations are itemised within a dropdown titled "Is there a charge for terminating my contract early?"at this page: http://help2.talktalk.co.uk/about-cancelling-my-talktalk-service
Summary: there should theoretically be no early-termination penalty fees if you agree to pay for all the usual services' charges to the end of the contractual period.

On live chat with them they initially told me to go to the shop homepage, click the go to Ireland site link at the bottom of the page, ok that, then click the go to UK site link at the bottom of the page, then try again putting address in manually with no changes. After that failed they said it was recognising me as an existing customer so I asked about misspelling my name, they said try it, I just clicked back to the details page then put my details in again, selected the address from the dropdown and just missed the last character off my surname. It all went through then, they then asked for my customer number to fix my surname on their system.

They should install a new line then you would have to get your current one disconnected in theory. You should have just signed up under your name missing the last letter of your surname off and the spoke to Sky live chat to get them to correct it later.

OK. So it's migration than new install for you. My new phone line won't be active until 7th July 2015 & SKY assured me that it won't affect the existing BT line that is already installed at the property which I have no authority to access. Just hope that BTOR engineers can read the instructions from SKY & don't migrate.

OK so called up Sky. The cancellation has already passed the point of no return. They cannot reinstate the offer without another code. the best they can do is keep the £100 credit on my account, but then i need to re-sign up a deal on the phone - the best they could offer was half price broadband and full price line rental! naturally i declined! They said that perhaps the online team via live chat can do something. But of course live chat has always been busy for the last 2 weeks! its ok, will try and jump on the next offer that comes along!

They wanted to cancel mine score changing back the address. They mentioned that because the account is same as with the code. The offer can be brought back up. Better ask to speak to a manager about your lost offer that wasn't your fault. They might just apply credits instead. Not fair on you.

maximum wait time is 90 days. I wouldnt try to drag it out though. The online system let me select 91 days from order (im renovating a new property)...only for sky to cancel the order the next day...and sky customer services cannot re-instate the offer unless you have a new code. I received no warning or call to move the date - just a cancellation. :-(

24 Jun 15#1075
Comment no, it will add an extra 5 to your bill so the monthly amount taken off your 100 credit will be £8.20 for the line and £5.00 for the extra
Darzen to sipart
24 Jun 152#1084
Yes you can add it with no problems and won't affect your half price line rental etc.
Obviously you'll be paying £5 extra so the £100 credit will run out faster.
then 6 months @ £13.20 = £79.20 (credit) = £0 Total credit used so far £94.35
then month 8 = £7.55 from account and £5.65 credit
then 4 months @ £13.20
I hope that's right.

Anybody with a spare or code going unused? It would be greatly appreciated.
Opening post
The offer goes live at 10am on Fri 19 Jun – from then, you'll get a code you can use immediately, but you can grab a code via the link now and Sky will alert you when it goes live, with a link to claim the offer. Codes can be redeemed any time before 11.59pm on Thu 25 Jun.
- A £100 credit we've blagged is applied automatically on your first bill. As this happens before you're asked for any payment, assuming you don't incur any call or other charges, the credit covers all payments for most of the first year - so you won't owe anything till a £5.35 balancing payment in the final month.

Plusnet have £120 cashback (via TCB) at the moment. £192 yearly line rental with free unlimited broadband on a 12 month contract. So £6/month is pretty much the best out there at the moment.
Hope to see a good Sky deal next year.
I'm looking for a good deal as of today. You can set activation a month ahead or so, therefore you wont lose much of the nearly-free Sky contract we're on.
- cancelling with Sky 30 days before and hoping for a good deal by their retentions team?
- holding out for a good offer with another provider who will cancel your Sky line rental/broadband when transferring your number across?
- a bit of both?
Anyone know when's the latest you can cancel the contract? For me is it before the 3/7, or before the 3/6, or sooner? Looking to make a smooth transition to a new package without extra charges.
£5 for a year of line rental and unlimited broadband is a great deal, getting paid £5.50/month is even better.
Makes my sky subscription for the Year £165 = £13.75 per month as I was able to combine it with the £25 p/m TV deal that was also on at the time.

I need to cancel this, I stupidly called Sky and they said it would cost £21.
Would I be able to cancel due to the price increase?
Or, the lady on the phone said they can move it to my parents for free, they already have Fibre optic BB and landline with VM, can they have both?
Any help would be appreciated
£5.35 + the extra 50p x remaining months (November - June = 8?) = £9.35
About an extra £4.
JUst wondering on the over all cost now due to the changes....
You can bet if you'd tried to leave or change the terms in November they'd have tried to sting you for the rest of the contract.
Maybe you signed up before me?
I signed up in June so it will increase in Jan 2016
There is also a Line rental increase from £16.40 to £17.40. So after 1/2 price it is extra 50p/mth
I'd say give Sky a ring and either get it removed or made free. You have reasonable grounds.
Can they remove this service if you don't use it anyway?
In order to qualify for Sky Existing customer cashback on Broadband upgrades you must not be an existing Broadband customer with sky. For example re-grading your broadband package from the basic package to Unlimited or fibre does not qualify for cashback.

I spoke to them about a week ago and was advised they could do nothing about the one off activation cost of £30 but today they advised although they will have to charge me for it they can credit it back to my account
So I've now got 12 Months of Fiber for £120 plus the £6 from the original deal so overall about £126 for a years Fibre! Although as I've just started a new contract I expect I might need to pay for a full months line rental at the end of the contract, I guess time will tell on that one...

'As you don't have an outstanding balance on your account, we won't collect a payment for this bill.'
Cashback is not paid to Existing Broadband customers upgrading to Broadband Unlimited, Fibre or Fibre Unlimited.
I guess it does say broadband and not Braodband Unlimited though  yeh I don't think thats going to be the case.... but I've expired the thread as its a bit misleading.
I will still be upgrading now the contract is only 12 months though as £10 a month for us with our free line rental is not something I can turn down
From today Sky have now changed the contract of there Fibre to 12 Months rather than the previous 18 months and are offering half price Sky Fibre unlimited for £10 a month for 12 months making with this deal it only £120 for a year of Fibre BUT it gets better...
I've posted this as its own deal here:

Mine finally transferred this morning by the look of it, as I was getting ready for work. My PlusNet just died suddenly, checked the router and no connection, then plugged the Sky one in while getting ready and after a little bit the amber light stopped flashing, went solid amber then after a few seconds turned white for the first time. Unfortunately I was in a rush and couldn't test but got a text an hour later from Sky saying I am now live.
You could always check this as a first point of call though before calling them, just to be sure you have already looked over the first things they are going to check with you.
You won't fix it without calling them. I am 99% certain this isn't provisioning as suggested above.
Have triple checked all connection and rebooted router several times without result
Anyone else having similar problems?
£105 credit - £6.95 delivery - £8.20 half price line rental = £89.85 CR
However, had to break my contract with talk talk to get it so am now waiting on the £100 voucher off sky as i have just paid the final talk talk bill so if this goes through as planned (confirmed with SKY agent) then ill be very happy indeed.
Final note, my internet speed is higher than talk talk previously (5mb) compared to SKY (7mb) but does go off and on, am waiting for the 10 day period to be over to ensure that this is caused by the "training" of the line.
Cheers
EE robbers capped me at 16mb max.
Sky giving 19mb down + 1.5 up
DnS is also faster compared to rubbish EE..
Can you post a picture of your line stats from the router? I think they can be found under Maintenance --> Router --> Show Statistics.
Monday evening speeds were great - 13.27 down 1.12 up . fantastic!
Tuesday no problems
Today I get home from work and I am told by family that the internet keeps disconnecting. When I check it
Does. On and off. On and off.:disappointed:
I thought things were getting better too.
Ive reset router and its still the same.
Anyone else having issues.
I'm fed up of seeing that sky heal thing on my web browsers
It was a maybe £20 from what I understand, I didn't have a line what was active and it didn't cost me anything to get it activated again.
People who have received a statement like myself with a balance of £89.85
You do realise that your account is in credit by this much ?
£105 credit - £6.95 delivery - £8.20 half price line rental = £89.85 CR
Good times : )
Already had TV services with them but did a bit a middling with my address and put it in the wife's name
Considered asking for the missing £10 to be honoured but think that might be cheeky, after all the deal was only for £100.
Anyone else have the same anomaly?
Mine's being activated tomorrow (changed from Tuesday) so will login and look at bill straight away if people are having issues.

About your Sky Broadband router delivery charge
Please note that your £6.95 router delivery charge will be added to your next bill or the one after that, depending on when in the month we receive your order. This doesn't include any offers that may be applicable (these will be reflected in your Sky bill).
Not sure what that 89.85 is for. when I log in, mysky doesnt have an update of my bill - so not sure just to wait or ring them up and ask what it's for.....
"A summary of your new subscriptions
Just to confirm your first month’s bill will be £84.85 and will be taken on or just after 21/07/2015."
Have had problems with sky billing before years ago when with them (kept billing me for 2 years after I left) so wouldn't be surprisied if they did take £84.85 rather than the minus it should be.
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/7036-sky-asdl2-prices-rise-by-2-50-a-month.html
From what I can tell its not going to affect us as the price increase would only apply after our free 12 months, so hopefully there will be some good deals to change to then!
Just had an email from plusnet that their telephone line monthly cost is going up. Somehow that was quite pleasing on the very day I'd gone to a new provider and wasn't paying that monthly fee for a year.
So far so good. I wonder if my plusnet router has any resell value?
Did you used to get 17MB then or was that just wishful thinking?
From what I can make out it would be:
£10 for 6 Months + £20 for 12 Months = £300
6 Months of Line Rental = £99.60
£115.50 Cashback (Top Cash Back for Existing Customers Upgrading to Fibre)
£15.78 a Month over the 18 Months or £22.20 if for any reason the cashback didn't track etc...
Download speed: 1.57Mbps Upload speed: 0.72Mbps
Its like the dial-up connection days all over again :sunglasses:
The actual net effect over the year is exactly the same, the only difference is when you pay the money.
and yes for those im regards to address 1 and 1a , it dosen't make any difference ..the engineer just installed and didn't even bothered..
EE Download = 16MB Upload = 1MB
Sky Download = 17MB Upload = 1.4MB
It might increase in the next 10 days so will update later..
PS DownStream Connection Speed19088
UpStream Connection Speed1271
Does sky cap speeds to 17mb max? any one getting more than 17mb so far ?
Thank you
We are now on 13.5MB which is better than my 8MB from EE
Thank you
Just slightly annoyed with Sky and their "it's in our terms and conditions" attitude. I know these things can't be helped but it's a bit frustrating having to spend the whole day in and still no-one can give any idea of when it's likely to get sorted.
Hope everyone else has better luck :disappointed:
Hopefully there would be no issues when you call Sky later and you don't have to send screenshot of the credits. Good Luck
Only reason I can think of why they haven't given me the £100 credit is because in my house hold we already had Sky TV but it's on my wife name. When ordering the broadband it showed me the £100 reward but not sure if they can choose not to give it after ordering. Any suggestions?
I would of thought that this credit would only be active once your service had started
I made sure that I took screenshots of the £100 credit.
2 more days wait till my services start.
I don't want it to be active as I'm not moved into the property yet... anyone in a similar circumstance?
Signed up Friday 19th, router dispatch notification on Tuesday, router delivery on Thursday... All in all just less than a week.
Many thanks
When setting up it said I must get a MAC code and sent it to SKY but virgin media said they dont do MAC codes anymore?
Hope that helps
Loughborough, where she signed up. All went through and she's live.
Don't forget that on the credit card but they ask for the name on the card. Nothing else, no address, no nothing.
Thanks for letting me know about it coming off the bill.
I did the deal for my sister and she was wondering whether they would give her £100 to her bank and it would come out of her direct debit, as she had apparently read that somewhere.
Although I messed with the address as moving early August and seems the current tenant has sky. So waiting till it's turned off to amend address just before install. Hope it works out fine as this deal is smoking hot.
If you cancel your broadband service without moving to another broadband provider a £29.69charge will be applied to your account.
i even mentioned that but was not sure, ill wait for the letter from them first and then will ring them.
Edit: I phoned EE, helpful lady said this letter had been sent in error and that the exit fee would be the original £30-something quoted. Got her to send an email confirming this.
I have never seen such a cheap deal for broadband and have already put a reminder to cancel next May.

If you use a code please highlight it as used. So people know thanks
This code still works if anyone needs it...
BBCU45OO2LABB0
I've decided to relinquish my code that I had won from hukdlr as a family member have confirmed that they are still stuck on their 24M BT contract (still have over more than 1+ year left) which will still have cost them much more even if SKY decided to contribute up to £100 to leave them. Yeah, shocking. I will never sign up to that long as there are no guarantees of what kind service levels would be like.
If you haven't ordered the incredible 12 months free Broadband Unlimited, 12 months half-price Line Rental + £100 bill credit offer, remember; the offer ends at 23.59pm June 25th, tonight.
First come, first serve to pm me. Can't be any more fairer than that.
Remember you only have until midnight TONIGHT to use this code.
Good luck
Now gone
EDIT:
Code claimed. Sorry.
If you haven't ordered the incredible 12 months free Broadband Unlimited, 12 months half-price Line Rental and £100 bill credit offer, remember; the offer ends at 23.59pm June 25th.
And here's your code in case you need it:
BBCU45OQBDB51F
So don't delay, get 12 months free broadband and line rental today.
I have also done the £25 all inclusive TV one done, and got the free 32inch TV also.
Not bad work
f1ps45l8c60b75
f1ps45l6n9ceec
They changed it. Should work
Long story short, my GF is a current customer, she cancelled her Fibre BB, then 10 minutes after I called up to start this ball rolling. and here i am. Did anyone else have trouble?
Nebo claimed the first and maz9300 claimed the last one
Nebo claimed the first code - who will claim the last one
I got that code as well but I don't watch much Live TV myself but catchup mostly so broadband only for me. Thanks for the offer anyway.
Just when I signed up for the SKY deal then this SSE Ultrafast Fibre deal comes up. Great! Now I'm in 2 minds now.
EDIT:
Code now claimed.
Just worried the install engineer won't find a 16a and drive on by lol
Please send me a PM with your first name and location if you are truly interested to get this deal for yourself / family.
PM sent
If anyone has a code they're not using I'd be much obliged
I joined virgin media nearly a year ago in a special deal and paid 12 months line rental in advance, £4 broadband for 6 months and then £17.50 per month and £100 account credit. The contract was to end convineintly early July 2015 ( which was great timing with the sky offer).
And now they've beaten sky's offer, so I'm set for another 12 months with great service from virgin media for nothing to pay this time round.
What monthly cost where you on with virgin before you decided to leave?
PM sent.
Sorry guys who didn't win.
Thank you
http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4455958510
When I posted earlier (4.30-ish) it was 2.5mb upload
Now
http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4456499789
So got alot better
50mb fibre broadband - £7.50 per month
£100 account credit
So £7.50 x 12= £90
So at the end of the contract il be £10 in credit
So there paying me £10 to stay with them for 12 months free line Rental and broadband services.
Mind you this was from their 3rd party retention team as there aware of sky's offer and don't want to lose customers to them, the move gentleman I spoke to said he had other people to call too who had signed up to with there offer.
Thank you
Anyone who has spoken to Sky chat about the non-appearance of the £100-credit on any correspondance (same here, looks like same for everyone) please also post. And anyone who has received a first bill; granted probably too early for that.
Otherwise, example of TT early termination costs and obligations are itemised within a dropdown titled "Is there a charge for terminating my contract early?"at this page:
http://help2.talktalk.co.uk/about-cancelling-my-talktalk-service
Summary: there should theoretically be no early-termination penalty fees if you agree to pay for all the usual services' charges to the end of the contractual period.
What does everyone else's contract say? Any mention of the £100 credit?
Would like to know what the script is for others? Saying that though, when I click on "view my bill" it comes up with "Your first Sky bill isn't available" sooo....I'm sure the full breakdown will be shown there, just need to wait and see imho.
I got the code as I was planning to join Sky but now I have changed my mind and I have decided to stay with TalkTalk. I am willing to give away my code (for free) but let's play a little game to make it a bit of a fun
Please send me a PM if you're genuinely interested to get this deal for yourself or for your family only.
* Cut off time for all PM's is 11:30 am on 25/06/2015
* Only those will be considered who will have the most characters of my first name in their username :stuck_out_tongue:
* In case of a tie I will flip a coin.
* Winner will be announced around 12pm on 25/06/2015 and will be sent a PM with the code.
Best of luck
Thanks
Question is basically when it asked me if I wanted to transfer my existing telephone number i ticked no so what happens now as I am currently with talktalk in my name but obviously set up this order in my partners name do I need to call talktalk and cancel there or will sky do it with them taking over the line for my adress ?
Thanks
no line activation either, so hopefuly only the delivery charge and nothing else.
We had sky just over a month ago until we cancelled, we usually got around 14.
When you signed up and put your postcode what speed did SKY say it would be inbetween?
Thank you
BB is pretty slow at the mo tho :disappointed:
That I copied whilst signing up. It still works on my iPhone browser. Not sure if will work for anyone else. I copied it many times and it's worked with the offer. So signing sister up with it too.
Edit: Just had a look and I can't find where to upgrade to talk anytime.( not that I want to, just checking)
I was just concerned if SKY were going produce some fine print if you deviated from the deal (i.e. adding the talk anytime to stop any excessive costs for a heavy daytime phone user).
Cheers
Obviously you'll be paying £5 extra so the £100 credit will run out faster.
So instead of £8.20 a month it will be £13.20
£13.20 x 12 = £158.40 + £6.95 ( router) - £5 (deposit) = £160.35 - £100 (credit) = £60.35
First month £13.20 + £6.95 - £5 = £15.15 (credit ) = £0
then 6 months @ £13.20 = £79.20 (credit) = £0 Total credit used so far £94.35
then month 8 = £7.55 from account and £5.65 credit
then 4 months @ £13.20
I hope that's right.
If anyone has a spare code, please PM me
I didn't give my old number and they,ve given me a new one.
I did ask a while ago but my comment must have gotten lost in all the other comments.
Thank you
Thanks
