APU = CPU with onboard graphics for those who aren't aware of the AMD APU chips. It means less power used and longer battery life, plus a half decent graphics card on board.
This will be good enough to get 30fps or more on GTA V at the laptop's resolution (1366 x 768) in medium with the more CPU intensive features turned off and should play most games, even new ones on low to medium.

No chance! You'll be able to play on minimum settings and the game will look like GTA2...

At low settings, getting 20 FPS in GTA V (or any of the newest games) will be a struggle at the laptops native resolution.

I disagree that this will play GTA5 in any playable way.

Upvoted for having an A10 at this price and Ubuntu. Way to go Linux!

seems a nice spec I've been looking but week for a laptop under £300 for my son but he fancies windows 10 when it's out so it links up to his Nokia and my Xbox one.
I've only used Ubuntu a couple of times and seems OK, is it possible to install Minecraft on there and something like Sims 4?
I'm thinking of getting him this and if he doesn't like Ubuntu I have a valid windows 7 serial number and is it right that this would let me have windows 10 for free?

Minecraft should be fine, I think a Linux version is supplied. Sims 4 would probably require some tricky workaround.
This is excellent for the price. I wish more laptops would come pre-installed with Ubuntu.

You could easily get it dual booting Windows 7 if you have a serial number and download a copy. You'd need to install Windows first then Ubuntu back on again after (don't worry about drivers, you can find them online). Or you could just install Windows on it and leave it with that if that's what you need.

Minecraft runs fine on Ubuntu as it's a Java game, Google for instructions to install it (or there is a nice walk through here http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2014/10/install-minecraft-ubuntu-14-10/). Other games such as Sims wont run natively, but you get a lot of good titles through Steam, which has a native Ubuntu (Linux) client.
As a bonus you can wave goodbye to malware, trojans, viruses and a host of other baddies. Yes you will need to solve a few problems from time to time, but that can turn you from a passive user into an empowered Super User! and you should find it a much more reliable experience, there is a reason that most of the internet runs on Linux.

I agree. Not a chance in hell of playing GTA V on this thing. The CPU and GPU are so weak it's laughable.
