Ok so I appreciate this won't appeal to too many people but having recently ordered one I was told about this by the LR dealer.
It's 5 years of servicing for £500. It is also transferable so if you sell in 2 or 3 years you could make the car a little bit more valuable.
It can be done at any approved service centre and although in theory it's for new orders, the chap I dealt with said if people are in their first year of new ownership he can sign them up.
Ordinarily I would not commit to 5 years worth of something but as my wife just paid over 200 sheets for an annual service on a golf I thought this was particularly good value.

and therein lies the dilemma and source of frustration for many owners. Land Rover refuse to give their diagnostic software to independent garages to protect their outrageously extortionist practice. This means you are servicing independently at some risk. In fact, because of this your dashboard continues to display the message 'Needs Service' after an independent unrecognised service. I think this protectionist practice is outrageous and I'm surprised it is legal in the UK

Putting aside your subjective view on aesthetics just for the moment, I don't suppose anyone would pay several thousand pounds on a vehicle just for a badge.
You can get these from the parts department for just a few quid, for pretty much any marque. :man:

This is available for "free" (included by default in the deal) on new Evoques ordered at Stratstone Land Rover Newport (& presumably other Stratstone LR dealers).

Have I stumbled onto poshukdeals by accident? Good deal for servicing especially if you have to go official to maintain any guarantees.

Ha! Fair one. The car is costing me less than a top spec kia sportage and I guess the servicing programme is a nice to have! Fingers crossed it doesn't need anything done to it on said services...

You can get the car serviced at any VAT registered garage using original spec items to maintain the warranty.
Although to maintain the residual price I would only go to Range Rover for the services.

Good deal .
I never use range Rover for anything thats gone on my Range Rover as they charge over £200 an hour labour plus VAT.
I had a BECM that needed resetting. Range Rover quoted £1000 to replace it. I got it done for £60 .
Just had rear air suspension replaced. range Rover quote £1400 . I got it done for £490.
Im in France right now and I had water poring out of the water pump. Unfortunately I wasnt given a choice by RAC whom took it to Range Rover. RAC called me as Range Rover couldnt diagnose the problem despite the fact that you put coolant in one end and it **** out the Water pump .
It has taken Range Rover a week to replace the Water Pump and has just cost me 1400 euros for what should have been a 2 hour job. I just hope when I collect it they have at least valeted the car :disappointed:

Sounds rubbish. I'll get the servicing stamp from them for the book and any work that does need doing I'll get done elsewhere. The local dealer charge £340 for the first annual service, seems extortionate to me which is why the 499 for 5 years seems like such a good deal!
Hopefully you get the valet, you might even get a little air freshner...

You should complain to the UK had office. Might get a goodwill gesture payment especially if it genuinely was a failed water pump.
The fact you don't normally use a main dealer probably wouldn't help your case though.

If I were you, I'd be asking the RAC for a report to confirm they diagnosed the fault which was quite clearly the water pump, and then write to Range Rover to complain about why it took them so long to diagnose the fault, asking for a break down on the costs. £1400 euros and one week without your car is absolutely ridiculous, especially if it comprises mainly of labour costs do diagnose an obvious fault.

I would have told the dealer that the Range Rover had taken my soul and now I'm a possessed demon and can't be held responsible for crashing my car through their showroom. When the police arrive it helps if you say that skateboarding fairies are committing road traffic offences in the local area and the police should be doing something about it, then quack and say you once saw Barry Norman riding a Dolphin in Brighton. You should get a nice coat with no arms and a sedated rest for a couple of years, then you'll be fine.
