This is my first post and wasn't sure if it was a voucher or a deal, its both depending on whether you prefer the IKEA restaurant or the store.
I was in IKEA Nottingham today (no idea if nationwide or not) the offer is whatever money you spend in the IKEA restaurant until April 21st, entitles you to get your money back against your store spend if you spend over £30.
Basically anything you spend on food in the cafe you get the same amount back at the checkout in store.
So if you want something from IKEA, why not go and splurge massively in the cafe, they sell things that could easily be taken home like sweets and drinks.
It's also not really noted anywhere, couldn't see it on the website or signage in store. It was pointed out to me by the cashier and is on the receipt.
Minimum spend on furniture is £30

Minimum spend (£30.00) is on anything in Ikea.
1. goto Ikea Restaurant
2. Ask cashier if Furniture offer is running
3. If it is then collect as much food as you can.
4. Pay cashier & collect voucher for same amount.
5 Go round shop & pick anything above £30.00
6. Pay at till & redeem your voucher for the total food bill from step 4
7. This must be done on the same day.

Just left the leeds store. We took an empty suitcase and bought all the cartons and bottles of drink and all the ready made sandwiches and cakes. Came to £94. Got voucher back to spend in store and dropped everything off at the local homeless shelter on the way home. Excellent. HOT. Going again in the morning.

I guess they want to get customers back into the restaurant after finding poo in the cakes, and strange animals in the meat balls.

Not that many people go to Ikea window shopping and probably not that many people go just for the gourment experience so on the assumption that most people are going to Ikea with the intent of buying something and just grab a quick bite while they are there then this is a very good deal.
Can you use the voucher in the food department ?

It makes sense to me. They've done this before.
Spend say £15.82 in the cafe. You pay for your meal, they then give you a voucher for £15.82 that you can spend in the store that day.

I'm sceptical, there's no such thing as a free lunch!
