We normally have some Gala pork pie over Xmas. Was shopping at Tesco this morning when noticed, printed on the label it said "buy all of me at £2.70 per KG". I asked the assistant to weigh it and he said it would be just over £8. I asked if that was at £2.70 per KG and he seemed unaware of the deal, and checked the label. he said it had a different code, re weighed it, and it came to £4. They had 2 so i bought both for £7.89. It seems each pie is packaged in halves and if you buy a full half, you get the cheaper £2.70 price. Both pies weighed in at close to 1.5KG and were approximatly £4 each. Great pork pie for the family over Xmas. (Not sure if they had any left in Failsworth Manchester).

Eggs are separated, the yolks are mixed together and cooked in a long thin sausage type skin. they are cooked in hot water then the skin is peeled off. then the yolk length is inserted into a wider sausage skin, then the mixed whites are added and cooked. Then it's peeled too, then it can be inserted into the pie.

How do they make the egg run the length of the pie? Do they have GM chickens laying rectangular eggs?
