You will need it, the dozens if not hundreds of apps which you authorised to use your camera, can take photos and video and sound 24x7 and store your actions and activities on to thier servers. Your mobile is a window into your little private world. Remember the newspapers listening to voice messages, this is similar except you've authorised the access.
Actually realised this app doesn't block the camera, just silences it.

I use volume ace. It's free. Lets you set up custom sound profiles. Lets you set times for them to come on and off. Widget lets you choose between them and has one touch silence.

There's already an option to turn off shutter sound in every camera app I've ever used. Genuinely struggling to see the use in this!

brilliant, thanks op. ive been looking for a way of making the phones installed inside my oversized shoes making shutter noises while im taking massively illegal upskirt pictures :wink:

You could always ask permission for an upskirt photo. It wouldn't be illegal then.
