This looks very good indeed for the price.

i've just read the abstracts and downloaded all 5 in .PDF format. This will be some really interesting reading for the next couple of evenings.
This post should be the hottest of the year (it will not be of course, that will be some PS4 game for adults or a half price vibrator from Anne Summers).

Glad you like - they're really nice pieces that almost anyone can read and start to learn about really interesting topics. Hope people find them interesting. If you like them more are coming in this year, another 15 or so by year end I think so check back. I'll try and remember to update this post.

Many thanks for posting these. They are indeed nice pieces, but I doubt they are really for the man (or woman) in the street. I've just read the Dark Matter piece, and it did help to have a physics degree (even a 35 year old one like mine!). I do so hope I am wrong about this though, and that lots of people take the time to read the articles.

Probably right (I too have a physics degree) - its more for science minded people. But, if someone has a keen interest in a particular topic I reckon these would be great primers.
My first degree (the physics one) was from Bristol - a long time ago though. Unfortunately I don't live in that part of the country now so the festival isn't really practical. I'll bear it in mind for the future though.

Joking aside, heat for this, particularly the proton beam therapy pdf.
