Ah, I hadn't got round to checking Clicksnap. Added to the post. Ta, Leer!

I find clicksnap is far better at getting the money confirmed including when claiming for multiple cashback for one item.

Nice to have a freebie, I know the star wars ones are 50p in Primark. Not seen the frozen ones, my little girl would love!

I know exactly what you mean. You never quite know where you are with Checkoutsmart because the communication isn't as good in-app. They said, I've rarely had problems and they are much better st resolving them than Shopitize which has gone to pot, it seems.

how does it work. so for example the mountain drew is 25p. does that mean i get 25p as cashback?

Yes. Always read the terms and conditions in the app. Make sure you check the qualifying merchants - some offers list several merchants that you can purchase the item for to qualify for the cashback claim. For example, with this one, it is only available from ASDA - not ASDA online because Asda.com is not listed. However, for Mountain Dew, you can purchase it from Tesco, Tesco.com, Sainsbury's and Sainsbury's.com.
Purchase the right size, right variant (for example, some items have different flavours), and within the period that the offer is running. Keep the receipt at all costs! Load up the app on your phone/tablet and open up the offer, and then press the 'CLAIM' button, and you will need to take a photo of the receipt (if you have a long receipt, it will let you take multiple photos and stitches them together. Just make sure you do it within the claim period; otherwise the offer will have disappeared from the app along with your opportunity to claim the cashback.
Some items are free - as in Clicksnap (or Clicksnap, for example) - will credit the full price you paid for the item.
Some items have a set amount that you can claim back, for example £1.50 - that might make it half price in one shop, but it could be on offer in another so you get it free (or even make a few pence profit).
Others are just 25p, 50p, 75p etc.
By the way, it's always worth checking the offers between the apps, because the offer might be in two but last for longer on the other. You can't claim the offer using the same receipt in both apps - you would have to purchase two items on two different receipts and upload one to the one app, and the other to the other app.
Some of the apps have a minimum withdrawal amount, for example you have to hit £4 or £5 in claims before you can withdraw it. But the offers are that good that most people check the apps every 1-2 days and claim at least 1-2 things a week. It soon tots up to an amount that makes it worth withdrawing it into your bank account. For Clicksnap, as it's part of Quidco, it just becomes part of your overall Quidco balance so some people prefer it if they're already signed up.
TopCashBack has a 'Grocery' claim section in its app, but generally the offers aren't as good - obviously worth checking if you are signed up with TopCashBack though.
That's probably way too much info but I hope it helps. And it really is very straightforward, despite the mini essay (but I'd rather you know, as you're asking, so you can start claiming and enjoying freebies and the like trouble-free  ).

Yes, as long as you purchase it from the correct store and the right size

These used to be four for a quid in Home Bargains, so I doubt there's much collection value to them. But who knows?

Hehe, I'll admit to being a little tongue-in-cheek there, but I just KNOW some people will. And I'm not just referring to Star Wars fans. Frozen schmozen remains dear in the heart of many!

Yep, agreed, Clicksnap 'feels' easier. But Checkoutsmart hasn't let me down yet. I've added Clicksnap to the original post.

'Tis a shame. I don't think all stores are stocking it as the CheckoutSmart app has a section for you to check if your nearest store has it.
If you've another Asda store that you sometimes pass and pop into, it's worth checking the app to see if it is listed there. Obviously not worth it otherwise unless you are or know a big Star Wars or Frozen fan.

And because it's linked to quidco it's feels easier than checkoutsmart, plus the quidco added bonus of getting 5% extra cashback on payment to turn it to an Amazon voucher (which can be very useful on stuff like preorders)
