Sainsburys are giving away free Pumpkins to customers. I know Halloween has passed but if like me you actually eat them too this is great.

lol☺ can you please tell me how you cook them...I mean what's the most tastiest recipe you have for pumpkins as I really want my little one to start eating them... I know of pumpkin soup and just roasting them but any other tried and tested idea would be great since you mentioned it op

Have it with couscous and tomato soup in the Mediterranean style and it will be super delicious

Chop them up ..also 2 or 3 onions and chopped carrot also put on a baking tray drizzle with a bit of oil and salt ..roast middle shelf quite high( normally gas mark 5 ) if that's not working go onto 6 and check after an hour .
Stick a knife in the flesh if it's soft enough put cling film over the tray and leave for an hour ..
After that scoop out the flesh and other bits into a blender
Add a cup 2'3 cups of vegetable 'chicken stock then pour into a pan 'add bayleaves
Paprika garlic powder(optional ) salt and pepper to taste
Tip: it tastes better the day after

To be honest I only make pumpkin pie, spiced pumpkin soup and I put it in veggie lasagna, nothing too adventurous but I love it

Most of the pumpkins sold for Halloween are not fit to eat apparently....
All pumpkins may be eaten, but there is a big difference among varieties.
Decorative pumpkins, which American children and patient parents carve just before Halloween, are grown with color, structural strength, a flat bottom, and a sturdy stem as their main attributes. The flesh tends to be bland, watery, and fibrous. No one cares because they're going to be carved and smashed in the street (or disposed of properly).

Probably after use by date.

Too many people believe sell by dates, you can tell if food is off by the look and smell. There's no sell by dates on the Pumpkins I picked up
