Just saw this and thought it was a fab idea, not heard of it before....
Have you heard about the B&Q Wastage Scheme? It’s called Community Re-use.
The scheme is in place to donate unsellable products and materials for re-use, for the benefit of the local community and the environment.
Who can get the free B&Q stuff?
If you’re an individual, you’re out of luck, you need to be part of a group that is going to use the stuff for good.
Eligible groups include:
Schools and colleges
Child minders, playgroups and nurseries
Allotment associations, community gardening projects
Youth groups including scouts, guides and cadets
Registered charities
Hospices
Conservation groups including The Conservation Volunteers and Forest Schools
Community projects organised by local churches and other religious groups
Women’s Institute, Lions Clubs, Rotary, Townswomen Guilds
Royal British Legion
Adult education projects, University of the Third Age
Other local community groups
What can I get?
The items are unsalable, but that doesn’t mean rubbish. No electrical or dangerous product can be donated e.g. broken ladders, faulty chairs or lights. Items you’ll get include wood, paint, tiles, turf etc
I’ve heard that schools for example have been given gardening equipment and Christmas decorations.
How do you apply?
Ask your local store to see if you apply, and if they have any stock (or will do soon). You should then contact head office (0333 014 3098) and ask to be added to the scheme. You’ll then be given products for free that they can’t sell within the store.
There’s no guarantee – but it’s always worth giving your local store a call if you are part of an eligible group.
Let me know how you get on!

Initially after reading the OP I thought it was just for info so should have gone to misc but after reading the comments it truly is a freebie deal be it it is based on eligible selection basis.... not a competition or misc well done OP even if one organisation of those who apply after seeing this post it will still be worth it.

Excellent. Heat upon heat added. Thank you Vixie2 for uploading this freebie well worth circulating. it may not apply to you personally but I doubt there are numerous people who it does apply to that know about it. I can think of loads of groups in my area that I am in contact with that would benefit from this, and definitely qualify. Thanks again for the time and effort.

I know about this scheme, but have never got around to registering. You have prompted me to do so, being a scout leader I am sure we will make use of this scheme. Cheers

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to post this information. I have just sent this to a church member as I know the church wants to renovate their kitchen. This will be extremely helpful to them.
Kind Regards.

Thanks for posting . If this had not been in the all section I would not have seen it. I have no problem where the deal is posted . Will pass the info on , with the rise in food banks and Government targets to invent any excuse to sanction people , any deal that helps people whom have suffered as a result of the Nasty Party , deserves heat .

I've tried twice to register for this, the large super store B&Q said they had never heard of the scheme and the manager told me to ring the number on a receipt. Rang the number and was told I had to do it instore :disappointed:
Ended up going back a few weeks later and told them that I was told I had to do it in store and a different manager said they would have to put me on a waiting list. If I'm honest I think they were fobbing me off though (That was July) - not heard anything since.
Nobody seemed to know what was going on with it.
