Textbook trolling in this thread, fantastic. Like a masterclass :smiley:
I had a very similar journey and evening to you. I own a cardboard and Gear VR, was surprised at the quality leap between Gear VR and PSVR I found last night. I bought VR Worlds, Rush of Blood, Driveclub (didn't arrive - thanks Tesco!) and Super Stardust but didn't get around to playing any of them, such was the quality and quantity of the demos and freebies available. I especially enjoyed Tumble VR which allows very intricate/delicate movements with the dual shock, and whatever the little platformer subgame is with the Move VR freebie.
I think a lot is down to expectation. I'm 39 and a lot of people I know have gone through a similar backlog of equipment e.g. Spectrum -> C64 -> Master System -> Megadrive/SNES -> Amiga -> PS1/N64 -> PS2/Xbox/Gamecube -> PS3/Wii/360 etc etc. so what these modern VR systems offer is fairly magical in comparison.
Biggest differences for me with the PSVR over the Gear VR were the proper head tracking - meaning you can get up close to /examine around objects in game (or peer over the diving cage/through doors into creepy rooms etc), much reduced screen door effect, no overheating/fogging and just a generally crisper display. A lot is down to the content as e.g. the 360 videos I tried last night just look rubbish, but a well thought out game/experience built ground up for VR and bearing in mind current technical limitations is fantastic. I used it for nearly 4 hours straight last night - even if I wanted to do that with the Gear VR (which I wouldn't, for comfort/boredom reasons) my phone would have run out of battery or overheated after 30 mins as usual :smiley:
EDIT: Forgot to add, I think this indeed the start of the future of gaming/entertainment. It's not that much of a leap between these systems and something like The Matrix, given a few decades development. If you showed a Vive to an Atari 2600 owner in the late seventies I'm sure his mind would be well and truly blown.

Why do you care so much? You don't think it's worth it - fine, move on and let those who do enjoy it.
I would counter your argument though, perhaps the PSVR isn't the Rolls-Royce of VR but given that we have Facebook putting $250m+ into Oculus, HTC, Steam, Sony and most probably Microsoft investing in platforms, it's certainly not going anywhere in the next few years at least. Fad or not, it's impressive, getting attention and people find it an enjoyable experience so who really cares either way.

To those thinking about getting this - it's superb just get it. Ignore the idiots that say things like juddery frame rates and looking like a dork. It works perfectly well with PS4 and will look even better with PS4 Pro - but you don't need the Pro, seriously. When seated correctly, there is no blur.
To those that don't like the idea of PSVR - get lost and start up your own hate thread somewhere else. You have no doubt not even tried it out. VR is not a fad.

I tried PSVR though in London and it was ****, the resolution was so low, everything looked blurry... I don't get why you'd want to play games like that when you can play them on a nice crisp 4K TV/Monitor. Like seriously try to watch video in VR it runs at like 540p or something stupidly low, you see jaggies everywhere... didn't sell me at all. The thing needs to be like 8K before I'm taking interest... plus the games I tried all sucked, Batman was crap, this deep Ocean one was crap... they were all like 5 min things you throw away.
On top of that the motion sucked, if you put your hands infront of the headset it lost tracking and then you felt sick. If you turned around it lost tracking and you felt sick, in fact if you stayed still it wouldn't track right and your hands would move all over the place and you felt sick.
It was really bad and tbh I tried Gear VR that my friend has and another friend bought the Vive, never used it and sold it on eBay lol.
VR is the next Wii, it's some fad that dies very quickly once people get bored of Wii Sports.... sadly though VR doesn't even have it's Wii Sports yet.

You sound very similar to me... I've only for partial vision in one eye due to a botched operation.
I went along and tried it out on a demo road show thing and was blown away. It almost made me forget about my lack of vision in that eye. If I had £350 or whatever the cost is I'd buy one. Amazing experience.

No their Dev kits released 2 years ago, retail units are coming out only this year. The problem is unless major AAA games come out for VR it will be just like kinect, a novelty for a Christmas market. Granted the rift and HTC are more progressive than PS VR, but they are still at least a generation away from being anything other than a tech gadget. Joe public will ultimately decide if VR will succeed, not tech enthusiasts and there is just no draw to VR at the moment.
OnyX12
14 Nov 16#221
The concept of VR and kinect are completely different.
If you think this then you have never used a VR headset.
Look at HTC or the oculus, they were released over 2 years ago and is still in high demand.

You don't consider PSVR on a standard PS4 'playable'? The majority of people who actually bought it would disagree. Outlay for me was £385 for the headset and camera - using the Move controllers I bought many years ago and the PS4 which had been gathering dust recently.
darkspace100
4 Nov 16#212
Thats a lie and you know it. To get a playable vr experience you not only have to buy a psvr, camera and overpriced ps move controllers but you will also need to buy a PS4 pro making the real price the same as the PC headsets if not more expensive and all that for a inferior experience. You are drinking that Sony coolaid.

Hey, if you like VR then all power to you. I am excited at where VR is going, but it's far from ready for mass market. I'm just being rational about it rather than ride along the 'PR hype train'. The 'games' (read experiences) are very short-lived and gimmicky and not to mention the cost is very much priced at early adopters. For most people, it won't be worth the investment. They're better off waiting on version 2/3 once developers know how to make full-blown game for this new platform.
I'd take Jeff's more sober viewpoint over someone who's calling everyone that doesn't buy in to the hype train as 'idiots' despite the very real issues that exist right now.

I think VR is fantastic, I'm not making apologies for it. As for fanboyism 'dude', hardly. It's simple math. I can get a great VR experience for a darn sight less than an equivalent experience on PC. Just because you're coming across as Mr Cool does not mean you are right. I think it is for the masses, they just haven't experienced it properly yet. Like you. We should all listen to Jeff Gerstmann, lol yeah right.

Dismissing all geunine criticism as idiotic just screams of fanboyism there. It's early tech for early adopters. It's pretty novel but still not mature enough for the masses. No need to be Sony's PR machine dude. Despite my reservations on PSVR, this is a hot deal.

The visor is pretty much head size (not as tall). There's a fair amount of cables, and you'd need the camera over there too. Probably motion controllers and power outlets too. Very do-able in a backpack (specialist bags and cases are available). The downloads thing you can't escape, but the same applies to most console games now. They could download before you got there.

I think 5 decent samples, using differing methods of VR, for the half of the price of a typical RRP is cracking. "The Heist" is short, but I loved it. "Danger Ball" is addictive and fun. The ocean diving is brilliant, especially if wanting to offer a VR experience to someone a little less tech-savvy (like I did with my Mum). Wasn't keen on the luge, but it was fun to try. The extra modes (such as the shooting range on "The Heist") further add to the value IMO.

I found VR Worlds a major disappointment, London Heist is so short and the amount of interaction is limited to say the least, Danger Ball would be great if they added online multiplayer. I personally think VR playroom offers more and is free!

Best £350 i have spent in a long time.
The reduced graphics from what we have come to expect is noticeable, as others have noted, but the immersion is simply astounding. My wife (who doesn't game at all) was blown away by it. It is a must if you are on the fence about this device.
I like a bit of horror, but the first time I tried "Kitchen" I nearly did a wee... The wife declined a go on this after experiencing the ocean dive and seeing the TV whilst I did the kitchen.
Only played a round on a few demo's at the minute, but after Valkyrie i did get a little nauseous after a few too many barrel rolls. Can't wait for the resident evil VR in Jan.

Playing the demo of Wayward Sky and before you start there is a desk with a few toys to play with.
I threw the ball at a chicken who picked it up and flew back to me. It was a bit out of reach so I leaned over resting on the desk to reach it and promptly fell of my chair as of course there was no desk to lean on! :smiley:
So it's quite easy to be immersed!

People moaning about the graphics, I don't see how.. It's not far off most of the stuff I've tried on HTC Vive..

Had mine on launch day. I'd saved up £150 of Tesco club card vouchers I was able to double up towards the pre-order yonks back. So my only real outlay (beside losing the vouchers obvo) was £50. Well glad I did as PSVR has surpassed my expectations.
I only have (the surprisingly good) demo disc and Drive Club VR so far. Besides the awe (and that's probably understating it) of the demo disc stuff my own favourite experience has been flying down the road in Drive Club with Spotify playing some of my favourite music through my ear pieces.
Being door to door with another car in motion and looking to your left into your opponents window is such a weird experience. Same with looking in your on board mirrors as if you're in a real car. Sometimes I don't even miss having a track map - I can look left or right out the window to anticipate the track coming up after the next bend. And if I'm approaching a blind rise or fall on the track I'm able to lean/sit up on the edge of my seat to glimpse a bit more of what's coming. Yes. It works THAT well.
Good to see the consensus of opinion is extremely positive, we want more support and even more games in the pipeline. I'm finding the functionality, head tracking and all that absolutely excellent. So comfortable. Not had one single glitch in 5-6 hrs of playing. I'm using the standard (MGS V edition) Ps4 console and Dualshock 4 exclusively.
Closest to a negative I've found is the slight blur on the graphics if you don't have the headset in the right position. I'm finding the sweet spot for everything to be really quite crisp (for VR) is quite small. Played again last night and seemed to be finding it ok. Maybe it's just me getting used to the headset.
If you have a Ps4 and the money, get one. You will not regret it.

The Playstation VR Viewer Mode is good but in general it is of visible lower resolution than playing a PS4 through an OLED or UHD TV directly, for obvious reasons.
Hooked it up to my Macbook Pro yesterday via HDMI, it showed up! So can output the Mac to the headset (A connection from the processor unit to the PS4 has to be maintained through USB). It is only a 'viewer mode' as such but still quite good considering, I couldn't work from it though, due to text clarity, dropped the resolution to 720p and text was fine but working at 1280x720 is a no go. As it works with any HDMI source I also tried the Playstation 3, works very well, might try Metal Gear in Viewer Mode VR.
It can't do 3D blu-ray just yet...but an update is said to be coming, I'd take it with a pinch of salt until it is actually updated!

I got mine on launch day with Valkyrie got to say I was gobsmacked. So much better than expected for the money. This system even with a ps4 system purchase is only a few percent behind oculus in terms of performance on that game most reviewers have been staggered with what Sony gave achieved for the retail price they are selling at. It's well under half the price of oculus and a pc rig that can handle it.
You also get to input any hdmi source in virtual cinema mode with 3d sound so yes you can watch movies or play your xbox one games on it - in effect it's like being on the front row of a cinema screen with no one else there.
Staggering piece of tech honestly blown away by it. I spend hours playing last of us and xbox one games on it as a come down from hours on Valkyrie! There may be many future iterations and improvements but I honestly believe this is the future.

My colleague at work is in the same boat, he's a non-prime user but pre ordered at the same time as me on the 16th March and is being told to wait until November.
I tried cancelling my order but the order is in an 'advanced dispatch stage' according to Amazon so can't be cancelled. The money is in my pending transactions which is annoying, otherwise I would of went to the local video game shop, who has stock and would of bought one there.

Facebook invested in VR for non gaming stuff. The gaming stuff was just to use as a starting point and to rinse a few suckers along the way. I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook can spy on users through these headsets or to use as a marketing tool for adverts by invading people's privacy without their knowledge.
Also just because loads of companies are investing in VR doesn't mean its guaranteed to succeed otherwise 3DTVs these companies were trying to push everyone would still exist today. Also the reason I care is because Sony are wasting time and money on this junk when they could have used that on games instead.

Why do you care so much? You don't think it's worth it - fine, move on and let those who do enjoy it.
I would counter your argument though, perhaps the PSVR isn't the Rolls-Royce of VR but given that we have Facebook putting $250m+ into Oculus, HTC, Steam, Sony and most probably Microsoft investing in platforms, it's certainly not going anywhere in the next few years at least. i havent tried the PS4VR yet but have demoed the Vive. It was an awesome experience but the dedicated space required to really get the full use was ridiculous. It was like you would need a decent size double room and then some form of retractable ceiling mount to control the wires to stop you from tripping over them..When i was using it there was a guy behind me holding the wires away from my feet. So yes in time it will be superb but i cant see this being in every average house...unless it goes wireless down the line at some point

This gimmick is not the future of gaming. Why don't people get that through their head. Even if you dismiss the awful and blurry graphics, the 3DS resolution, the motion sickness, the overpriced hardware and its own separate pool of games its still will never replace gaming on a TV. People like convenience and putting on some dorky looking headset with wires around your neck just to play games will never be mainstream. People are falling for the marketing that this device literally transports you to another world when its just a screen right near your face. Wait a few months when the mini games dry up and Sony forget that this exists like they did with the PS Vita and then tell us how you feel.

People actually believe vr isn't a fad lol. Obviously people are denying its a fad because they just blew alot of money on. People will always prefer to game on a TV as its human nature to want to do stuff with as little effort as possible and convenience will always win out and thats not mentioning the motion sickness, headsets overheating and causing burns on the face after prolonged use and downgraded graphics these VR games have. Its absolutely a fad and don't believe anyone who says otherwise.

VR is far from being a fad it's been the ultimate goal for a fully immersed gaming experience for as long as I can remember, the technology was just never up to it.

We shall see, but I'm not impressed so far, most people aren't impressed by psvr and there has yet to be good software you want to play more than 5 mins of. On top of that psvr games are a rip off for the poor amount of content you're getting.
My vision is fine and it was at an expo so it was setup right, the screen is only 1080p split in half vertically. It's so low res, you see Jagger's everywhere, everything looks blurry and you especially notice when viewing video... which exposes how crap it is. They need to be 4K before they're good or 8k to match the fidelity of 4K TVs per eye.
I'd rather sit in front of my 65 inch 4K tv which is much crisper and offers a much better experience for gaming and video.
It's a fad that will die down once people realise how limited it is, it'll get picked up again in a few years when gpus can handle 4/8k at 90hrz.

I have tried the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive own the Cardboard, Samsung Gear VR and now the PSVR. I have to say all are great. The HTC is amazing in terms of freedom of movement but the PSVR is still fairly good. You can move around in an area of about 2m - 3m left and right and forward and backward by about 1.5m but not all games support this yet. The hand controls are great and nice to be able to see the Dualshock controller on others. A massive step up from the Gear VR but not quite there compared to the HTC. Sony have done a great job with the headset which I used for about 3 hours last night. The free games are so great I have not even opened my copy of Rigs yet on that basis this is a very hot deal. VR is not a fad, even if you take the VR out of this, just the fact you can play a film on a cinema sized screed or play your games on a cinema sized screed is almost justification itself. £349 on a new fairly rubbish TV or £349 on something like this!!!! I have heard that you can just plug in an HDMI source and it works as a personal screen - people are using PSVR as screens for their Xbox ones.

14 Oct 161#122
Well I'm enjoying mine. After only having tried Google Cardboard the clarity was a huge step up.
Drive Club VR is the biggest disappointment in terms of graphics, but the others that I've tried, RIGS, Tumble VR, Playroom VR, Rez & EVE are perfectly fine, even though the graphics are lower than what you'd see on a standard PS4 game, they don't detract from the experience.
At half the price of the Vive, which I almost went for (my PC would cope), and a fair variety of content available at launch I think it's a good jump into VR and shows what the potential really is.

Had to write on this thread to dispell some myths that people are saying vr is a fad. Anyone saying this has obviously not tried the vive, which is the pinnacle of vr at the moment. Room scale is the future of vr however psvr will do great in bringing the masses to the scene. As a vive owner I'm staying away from the psvr at the moment due to lack of room scale however it will still blown people's minds.
The graphic quality will take a few years before its 8k however really polished games look great. The gallery amd valves the lab really show what can be done.
Anyone dismissing vr as a 3d fad I bet has not tried the vive.
To the person who commented their friend sold the vive on eBay without playing it, what utter balls!!

Exactly so the price is false advertising as well as to get the minimum playable standard you need to buy both a PS4 pro and PSVR which will cost at least £700 and thats not including those overpriced PS camera and PS Move. Sony scamming its own customers. Funny thing is they only made the PS4 pro mainly for VR but it seems now that VR is indeed a fad.
MyPetFrog
14 Oct 16#119
They will indeed, but PSVR is definitely justified. For this scale of experience to be available at this price point is astonishing. The sheer number of games and experiences in development shows that this is not going to be a fad.
Oh and for anyone who hasn't yet - try the free Allumette film, wow!

14 Oct 16#118
Pretty impressed. The graphics aren't anywhere near the usual PS4 HD quality for some of the games, but games like Battlezone and Rigs look superb, so it does show that with the right team then great graphical content is possible, so I'm pretty confident they will take a big leap once the PS4 Pro is out and devs get to use all that extra processing power.
News on PS4 Pro has been very quiet (understandably not to take the limelight from PSVR) but I'm sure we'll start to see news stories of how big the improvements are over the coming weeks!
Loved Rush of Blood and Driveclub VR (mushy graphics but far outweighed by the whole experience - felt brilliant!).
Oh and The Resident Evil Kitchen demo.... now THAT was freaky, and I almost took off the headset at one point as it got completely horrifying (guess I could've just closed my eyes but it felt way too real!) Just brilliant!

14 Oct 16#117
Could well be, it might end up being niche until it's near perfection.
According to Ray Kurzweil, the guy who makes tech predictions, VR will start to feel 100% realistic by 2029 and he also believes the singularity will happen by 2030. So I'd be more inclined to believe him tbh since he has been pretty much on the mark about things regarding tech.

When you get this it will blow you away and everyone you know who hasnt tried VR will be blown away also BUT there are no games currently which will hold your attention for long and it will gather dust. As well as the along with PlayStation VR, I also ended up getting some other stuff:
* Playstation 4 500GB Console + Fifa 17 Smyths £149.99
* PlayStation Move Motion Controller x2 Amazon £ 69.99
* PlayStation 4 Camera (New Version) Amazon £ 36.00
* PlayStation DualShock 4 Controller Amazon £ 34.99
* PlayStation DualShock 4 Charge Station Amazon £ 22.42
* PlayStation VR Worlds Amazon £ 24.00
* Playstation Hustle Kings VR Amazon £ 14.00
* Playstation Sharp Shooter Gun Amazon MP £ 19.99
* Playstation Move Charge Station Amazon MP £ 12.64
* PlayStation Move Gun Attachment Amazon MP £ 9.88
* Playstation Move Racing Wheel Ebay £ 4.87

I think the idea that vr is a fad is completely wrong. The technology isn't perfect, but neither was the iPhone 1, but it changed the way we did things.
If it continues to improve, the possibilities are endless, and TV gaming could be a novel thing from the past!

Resolution is something you 'get used to'. Not ideal but it's a little like having bad vision, you kinda forget its there if you arent looking for it or trying to read a book.
The Rift and Vive have better resolutions, but it is still very obvious when you first try it out. Most people report forgetting about the resolution issue after getting absorbed into a game, everyone is different of course.
meglaman2000
13 Oct 16#93
Have you used it?
Or do you just apply this logic to anything thats new to the market?
I have a HTC Vive and I had Kinect when it came out, they are worlds apart.
Kinect never had anything like the reaction VR has had from real people in the market. Kinect showed a potential that was never realised, the final product was nothing like the sales pitch.
Get inside a VR headset and experience proper 1:1 tracking, especially in room scale and you will see its potential.

Read the review of drive club VR and it's a mess apparently. They have had to reduce the graphics and are now on a par with an early ps3 game. A blurry mess is how they put it. It's pretty apparent that to run some VR games at passable quality you are gonna need to buy a PS4 pro.

13 Oct 16#86
It remains to be seen that Sony will be highlighting such potential safety concerns and issues. The PR Dept will surely be keeping that lid sealed if they can.

Don't forget you can use a separate US PSN account to download bits and bobs available to that region which can then be played using your usual UK PSN account. I grabbed whatever was available late last night (from memory there was one more thing in addition to the stuff posted here) - including the US demo disc which based on reports a couple of weeks ago had a lot more content than the UK one.
Also stuck at work awaiting mine to be delivered - I did get a dispatch confirmation with a RM tracking number though, but I never got the 'expected delivery date' from Amazon communication.

Hot deal. Spend over £400 and get a couple free games. :innocent:
I'm really glad PS VR seems to be doing well and provides a good experience but I find the overall cost to be extremely high for console gamers, it's significantly more than the base system itself, that's an extremely hard sell for a add on peripheral! Plus I think many will be confused that the PS VR headset is pretty much unusable on it's own without the camera (would it have really cost them so much to bundle ffs) and some titles need the move controllers. Can see a lot of disappointment come Christmas, when inevitably many will receive the headset but will be unable to use it due to no camera or move controllers because Sony were too cheap to bundle all the required parts together...
That aside, I am sure I will get it at some point, it's exciting technology but for me the price has to come down (plus the required parts should be bundled as mentioned) and the number and depth of the games has to go up but a promising start at least....

My local Argos has them in stock - I'm really tempted but I'm not sure I can justify over £450 when you add in the cost of the camera and move controllers.
I might wait to see if there's any Christmas price drops.

Hahahahahaha :smiley: it remains to be seen.. You've got to admit the potential for this is huge? I thought ps4 pro was pretty much essential so was going to hold out but I'm so stupid when it comes to wanting something I absolutely don't need just because I can and its out! I'm a fully grown man what's wrong with me? :smiley: I'm off work today and I have 2 GAME stores within 8mins drive.. God damn it!

Thanks for the heads up! Awaiting delivery. Looking forward to it. Love posts like this, people moan about is it a "deal" if it's free? But I have a full time job and two kids I often miss out on content then have to fork out when they slap a price on it down the line so this is really helpful. Cheers

Didn't think it was going to be VR but that would be cool if it is basically a tablet and can be added to a headset for vr. Would probably then be the most powerful wire free VR system

Added them to my library for any potential future purchase. I LOVE the idea of VR, but the cost plus the fact there's not a couple of in depth games I would play for more than a few hours at a time.
Once/if there's a couple of real games that offer more than a glorified tech demo I'll be extremely tempted.

To those that don't like the idea of PSVR - get lost and start up your own hate thread somewhere else. You have no doubt not even tried it out. VR is not a fad.

I went along and tried it out on a demo road show thing and was blown away. It almost made me forget about my lack of vision in that eye. If I had £350 or whatever the cost is I'd buy one. Amazing experience.
If you think this then you have never used a VR headset.
Look at HTC or the oculus, they were released over 2 years ago and is still in high demand.
I'd take Jeff's more sober viewpoint over someone who's calling everyone that doesn't buy in to the hype train as 'idiots' despite the very real issues that exist right now.

I've got Rigs, Stardust to even come out the wrapper yet. Plus I've got my eye on about 5 I want to download but am enjoying these 3 games so much I ain't had the chance.
It's.... Ridiculous.
I threw the ball at a chicken who picked it up and flew back to me. It was a bit out of reach so I leaned over resting on the desk to reach it and promptly fell of my chair as of course there was no desk to lean on! :smiley:
So it's quite easy to be immersed!
Batman is actually better than anything I've tried on Vive and completely blew me away. Having Penguin in front of you and being able to walk from in front of him, to each side and lean in and peer round him.. The graphics are unbelievable for VR.
Can't believe how real it looks. This game looks like a game changer.
well done to Sony for pushing VR more mainstream too, hopefully will aid in improving the technology and getting me an affordable headset for my PC :P
To those that don't like the idea of PSVR - get lost and start up your own hate thread somewhere else. You have no doubt not even tried it out. VR is not a fad.
Does it by any chance show 3D movies from for example a 3D Blue Ray? Obviously not expecting something amazing, just wondering if it does show them in 3d.
I tried cancelling my order but the order is in an 'advanced dispatch stage' according to Amazon so can't be cancelled. The money is in my pending transactions which is annoying, otherwise I would of went to the local video game shop, who has stock and would of bought one there.
So we'll see what happens :/
Not wanting to rub salt into the wound, I only ordered mine on September 30th and it arrived on day of release.
Maybe being a Prime subscriber made a difference, but surely when pre-ordered that far in advance it should have taken priority.:confused:
I have 1 move controller and 1 navigation controller from the PS3 will the navigation one work please?
Mine has been Dispatching now for at least 2 day, ordered as soon as the link went live on 16th March
Also, I like the way the Rift is heading in a modular fashion and the new hand controllers really tempt me, especially if there is decent 3D design software.
I'm currently in the try before I buy camp but not in a particular rush.
My move controllers have been working without any tracking issues. Mostly I've been playing Driveclub using G29 wheel. That's really surreal
Also just because loads of companies are investing in VR doesn't mean its guaranteed to succeed otherwise 3DTVs these companies were trying to push everyone would still exist today. Also the reason I care is because Sony are wasting time and money on this junk when they could have used that on games instead.

I got RIGs, which would have been £49.99.. well worth it imo for receiving a day late! :smiley:
I might give the first generation a miss but I'll hold judgement until I can try it out for myself
Oh and for anyone who hasn't yet - try the free Allumette film, wow!
According to Ray Kurzweil, the guy who makes tech predictions, VR will start to feel 100% realistic by 2029 and he also believes the singularity will happen by 2030. So I'd be more inclined to believe him tbh since he has been pretty much on the mark about things regarding tech.
you have played one today then I presume? You know..so you are entitled to have an opinion.
Please stop your jibber
People who don't realise this is a fad are clearly not the most intelligent beings
As well as the along with PlayStation VR, I also ended up getting some other stuff:
* Playstation 4 500GB Console + Fifa 17 Smyths £149.99
* PlayStation Move Motion Controller x2 Amazon £ 69.99
* PlayStation 4 Camera (New Version) Amazon £ 36.00
* PlayStation DualShock 4 Controller Amazon £ 34.99
* PlayStation DualShock 4 Charge Station Amazon £ 22.42
* PlayStation VR Worlds Amazon £ 24.00
* Playstation Hustle Kings VR Amazon £ 14.00
* Playstation Sharp Shooter Gun Amazon MP £ 19.99
* Playstation Move Charge Station Amazon MP £ 12.64
* PlayStation Move Gun Attachment Amazon MP £ 9.88
* Playstation Move Racing Wheel Ebay £ 4.87
It's gonna be a struggle leaving them alone TBH. LOL
I think the idea that vr is a fad is completely wrong. The technology isn't perfect, but neither was the iPhone 1, but it changed the way we did things.
If it continues to improve, the possibilities are endless, and TV gaming could be a novel thing from the past!
I've been gaming since my BBC micro in the 80s, today I witnessed the most amazing thingtive ever seen in gaming .
The Rift and Vive have better resolutions, but it is still very obvious when you first try it out. Most people report forgetting about the resolution issue after getting absorbed into a game, everyone is different of course.
That's odd?
On top of that the motion sucked, if you put your hands infront of the headset it lost tracking and then you felt sick. If you turned around it lost tracking and you felt sick, in fact if you stayed still it wouldn't track right and your hands would move all over the place and you felt sick.

Can I unplug it?
Until dawn is pretty cool, but only completed the first level, rollorcoaster with targets/ clowns to shoot. Can see that getting tedious after a few levels. Plus great if you want a scare, prob not good for your daughter tho! Another one to try yourself. "KITCHEN" on the ps store, make sure you check it out. 5 min demo of resident evil 7, but shows off what could change horror games for the better!
also have the same games except for until dawn but have vr worlds but thats so my daughter can play it. But I heard its not great as its not complete games
Seriously though, be very interested to hear people thoughts about this product once they have had a chance to use it.
You won't be disappointed - its great, I gave it a shot at a Sony event a couple of weeks ago! I had the chance to try Eve: Valkyrie and my brother tried DriveClub (which they had a full steering wheel/pedal rig set up for).
Literally the only reason I haven't bought one is I'll be away travelling soon and it wouldn't be practical to have one then not use it for a few months!!
Looks like the US/Canada version of the demo disk has a couple of extra games on?
What games have you got?
I picked up, obviously Loading Human, then Driveclub VR and Until Dawn- Rush of blood.
Theres plenty of demos to keep me going for now, was tempted to get Ps VR World, but reviews are awful.
At the moment its the best deal out at the moment, for an extra £50
Also stuck at work awaiting mine to be delivered - I did get a dispatch confirmation with a RM tracking number though, but I never got the 'expected delivery date' from Amazon communication.

That aside, I am sure I will get it at some point, it's exciting technology but for me the price has to come down (plus the required parts should be bundled as mentioned) and the number and depth of the games has to go up but a promising start at least....
You tried the cinema mode yet, like how you can chose the screen size! Medium is perfect for me, large is too big! Tried COD Modern Warfare Remasted on it. Works a treat!
Personally I don't ever want a VR helmet in my house but it was nice of Sony to provide some free trial ware for it I suppose.
I'll wait :smile:
Don't want either of them - anyone in St Albans area want one at RRP?
I ordered literally the minute they went live on the website and I've just had an email saying they don't know when it is going to be delivered.
"Note: Due to limited stock we are only able to offer one unit per customer per address. You will be notified via email of the expected delivery date closer to the time. We will be fulfilling customer orders in the order in which they were placed and expect to fulfil all customer pre-orders by 12 December, 2016.
