There's this Stanford lecturer put his entire digital photography course online for free.
Check it out. Pretty good for those who wants to learn more about the technical aspect of photography.

[Update on September 6, 2016: this course seems to be popular, causing Google Drive to temporarily refuse to serve
some of the lecture videos. If you get an error message that says, "Unable to play video at this time" when you click on Play
for a lecture, you can instead access the video on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/marclevoy/videos.
That said, some of the videos have been flagged by YouTube as violating copyright and even blocked in some countries.
The problem is that YouTube doesn't know these are lectures, which ought to fall under "fair use". If you can't find a particular
lecture on YouTube in your country, you might need to come back here and wait for Google Drive to resume serving that video.]

Just viewing the first lecture now... there's a lot theory (maths, perspective etc), but the lecturer is engaging.

Frankly, I didn't realise there can be so much science behind the click of a finger

I hope this is a trend , not many people are going to see his lecture at Stanford , even if you went to Stanford
this way the info gets out , He gets a little attention and hopefully will do another series
