Nintendo is continuing to give back to the gaming community — or at least the nostalgic members. As we get ready for the mini NES to drop this Fall, Nintendo has made the first 13 years of Nintendo Power available online for free.

Excellent. Summer reads sorted.

Nice. I'm not sure though - did Nintendo do this themselves, or did someone else scan them and upload them?

The scans have been around for a while. They've been on archive.org since earlier in the year. I'm not sure why there are sites reporting on it today, but it presumably has something to do with three of those issues being set as reviewed today. I'm not entirely sure why that is either as I believe those particular issues have always been there. This is the only place I've seen it mentioned that it has something to do with Nintendo.

Heated, wonderful nostalgic freebie. Great to read mags from back in the 80s/90s. As I was gaming (at least in the 90s) back then there is of course the nostalgia factor but i think in general magazines just seemed better then, partly because they were the only source of news and reviews so they had a more significant function, many mags now don't even bother with a news section as they know people will have already read it online...

This is lovely but not the same feeling as holding the actual magazines.

True, but the problem with holding onto everything from yesteryear could lead to your place ending up a hoarding disaster like many a google image......

Depends on your reader software, but PDFs should work fine for this.
