Yes, it should have been there from the games' launch, but now the story mode is available for free download for owners of SFV.
Taking place between the events of Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III, the Street Fighter V Cinematic Story Expansion, “A Shadow Falls,” depicts the ultimate battle between the evil Shadaloo organization and the heroic World Warriors who stand against them. Seven “Black Moons” are deployed by Shadaloo, granting M. Bison unimaginable power, as the earth falls into darkness. Seeing the moons mysteriously appear in the sky, Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li embark on an epic journey around the world to retrieve fragment pieces that are the key to stopping the “Black Moons” before it’s too late. Along the way, they encounter the rest of the World Warriors, each of whom have their own agendas and motivations in mind. The final battle between good and evil begins now… who will RISE UP?

Developers get away with murder lately releasing half finished games and then adding the content later. Would rather they wait and release a complete product.

Overwatch is even worse for lack of content than SFV and full of microtransactions yet that game didn't receive any hate. People have double standards.

Why DLC it and not just patch it?

So they can take this DLC along with others that they may charge for, and turn it into a GOTY/Special Edition.

Actually seems a good idea, if you don't want the story mode you can save 9GB of space

Better just to wait for Ultra Street Fighter V. The complete package.

It's already been announced that there will only ever be one version of SFV and all gameplay content will be free.

Insert the disc and have all of the content available instantly. This is ideal for gamers who want the complete package or those who don't have access to internet.

Fair comment and that makes a lot of sense...

But obviously this deal is only applicable for people who already own the current version of SFV. So how exactly is it better to wait for the edition that you just made up if you've already paid £50 for the game?

Just finished this ; you get 30000 credits for clocking it. Was a laff and a nice distraction ; still needs a decent arcade mode though. Uriel and Juri are cool (Juri looks like she has some mean combos in her), once they are fully on the rota they should be quite formidable.
As the game stands there are certain ways to farm game credits, so technically nearly all unlocks are possible however you plateau out fairly quickly and you earn next to nothing (unless you're willing to do 50+ survival fights on the bounce and if you lose on 49 you get nothing). I think doing all challenges and nearly everyone on easy and normal survival plus viewing all demos I've amassed about 550k. I've just spent 470k on the 4 characters and one stage, however there will be 2 more released and ignoring costumes there'll be another 4-5 stages to earn too. I'll probably need to farm about another 500k from somewhere, so to gain all the main stuff you'll be looking at about 1 million credits in total. Not impossible but bloody difficult as it is.

SFV at this point with the latest update + this is finally perfect, for me imo. No complaints

Is this seriously being given heat? Are people perfectly fine with content being taken out of games they paid FULL PRICE for!? OP really? :/

Its free so stop being such a drama queen. As if you would buy it even if everything was in day 1 anyway.

random question: I remember you was very outspoken with how you disliked how SF5 was released in previous posts. Are you okay with the game now?
