I thought Pokemon was some obsolete relic from the 90s, then suddenly this appears and it's all the rage again. Shows what adding a bit of augmented reality will do to a franchise.
that's a pokeball that would have been "thrown", and there's no reason why you'd walk towards it. pointless.

looking on the internet, you can put it on there if you install the APK from somewhere else (make sure it isn't one of the ones with malware first though) and apparently it runs well, i am going to have to install it on my daughters when i get in so i should be able to confirm then.
the AR bit doesn't work on it though so you would have to keep that off (you will see in the game)

Caught about 7 Pokemon today in an hour walking to the pharmacy, but I saw a Raticate thinking "YES!", and as soon as it was in the pokeball and the "nice one!" appeared the game froze :disappointed:

At least you can switch AR off and just tap the Pokemon to make it catchable, to avoid the embarrassment of running and swinging your phone around looking like a pillock

How do I catch the Pokemon? It's in camera node and I can't get off the screen which shows a Pokemon available to catch. Now the bloody Pokemon won't go away but I have no way to catch it

also - Not compatible with Android devices that use Intel Atom processors - Play store
plus if you have 1gb of ram, it's laggy. one tip, switch off the AR with the camera. it helped my Moto G.
format
15 Jul 16#63
i have a moto g3 and the AR isn't even usable, guess it has no gyros (can turn it on, can't see the pokemon - can't get bearing). make sure you have a battery pack and data limits set - i installed it today and took a stroll to the shops and it destroyed both those things.
it's blooming addictive to walk around with it open and honestly i'm impressed it's drawn my attention to a lot of landmarks i never realized were there on my usual walk into town, but i've yet to understand what the 'game' is or how to play it outside of walking around with my phone open and clicking landmarks i pass or chucking balls at pokemon when my phone vibrates. there must be some way of doing the walking part with phone closed/screen off and be notified when something is nearby, and i have no idea what fights even involve or how to go about them (or levelling my menagerie).
did also walk around an estate twice trying to catch something and took several detours to get in range of a stop - very very addictive but i'm really not sure why, or what else there is (if anything) outside of walking to do, game explains itself very poorly.

Anyone who has played Ingress will recognise that the landmarks are the same for both games - same developer I believe.

Oh. Really? I was in Junior School when Pokemon was huge in the UK and everybody but two people in my class collected the cards and even those two probably had the gameboy games or watched the cartoons.
