Fab post. Also, if you're not in London, try ringing your local fire station and arrange a visit directly. The crews are always very accommodating. Most stations have open days twice a year and they're always well worth a visit!

Most of the fire stations in Cleveland have open days in summer autumn months when they have loads of activities and outside guests such as magicians. Loads to do and always an opportunity to raise funds for the Firefighter Charity which is a great cause
