The law's now changed (as of Apr 2016)... All dogs in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland must be micro-chipped. . This will normally set you back around £20 at your local vets.
The good people at the Dogs Trust, are running a free chipping service. Locations can be found via the link.
Please donate anything you can, to help keep this charity running.
I've put this in Deals, as free over £20 is a deal in my eyes.
My apologies if this has been posted before. I did search but couldn't find anything.
I did see this somewhere else, and thought it would be good to post here. So a thanks to the original poster.

it's a good money saver-however, you're taking funds away from a charity which could be spending that money on better things. Why should they spend charity money on keeping you legal???

They are doing this because they can't get rid of their money fast enough.

Why not make a donation while you're having your dog chipped? Win win then. I'd imagine DT think its cheaper in the long run to offer this for free rather than having an unchipped stray in their kennels for possibly years.

maybe donate £20 to the charity, rather than paying it to the vets?

I'm sure the charity directors pay is helping them hemorrhage money, that's why I stopped donating to them. How many charities have a Lord, Lady or some other rich person getting paid vast amounts for 10 directorships or more and rely on other staff to do work for nothing. It seems this is another them and us initiative.

Not sure why something free, has received cold votes. Must be from the cat lovers lol.

It's because we're a fickle bunch on here.
DT have been running this promo for a long time now, but it's a handy reminder for those unaware.
