I believe that's referring to the statement they've made about it being the 'UK’s #1* cleansing brand'. The asterix identifies the source of the information that allows them to make that statement. In this case,
'(*NPD Premium Skincare, January – December 2015, Value Sales)'.
They are declaring that they are basing their statement of the value of sales generated from January to December 2015. The offer is a current offer as reflected by the people that have been to a counter and claimed recently.

The staff at the local branch today rejected an half empty 50ml bottle, because it was 'not a full size' bottle. How ironic! What they give away is only 30ml not even 50ml.
Well, since they happily rejected a potential customer, then they should be prepared for their product to be boycotted for life. :sunglasses:
