If you get free minutes to 0870 numbers from your Sky, BT, Virgin, Post office, PlusNet and SSE Talk landline then you can make FREE international calls to over 80 countries. Includes free calls to Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, USA, Canada and many European countries.
Virgin mobile also include unlimited calls to 0870 numbers on their £12 a month 30 days sim only contract. This sim can be cancelled anytime by giving Virgin a 30 days notice.
You can also get 300 minutes of 08 calls for £2.50 per month on Vodafone pay monthly sim so it costs less than 1 pence per minute. Would benefit those who don't call much and are paying more than 1 pence per minute to speak to their loved ones abroad.
EE also do an 08 calls "add on" for £3 per month for 300 minutes so it effectively costs 1 pence per minute to make international calls.
You can either dial one of the 0870 numbers on the website or get your unique 0870 number that connects to your international number automatically. It helps eliminate the hassle of entering the international number every time you want to make a call. Just send them a message with your international number (s) and you will get your unique 0870 number via email.

Also, if you send them (MakeFreeCalls) a message with your international number(s) then you will get a unique 0870 number to each of your destination number. Doing it that way kills the debate of "Indirect access numbers" and service providers don't have any means to find this out because your are not typing any international number after dialing the 0870 number. Hope it makes sense to you

Trust me, you won't regret it. Just make sure you have free calls to 0870 numbers inclusive in your tariff.

If you call a lot then you can add unlimited anytime 0870 calls to your existing package for £2 extra per month. Check your online account in the upgrade section. By the way, you can use this service to call UK mobiles as well. So for £2 extra per month you can take advantage of both.

I have just signed up with Plusnet & this is what they tell me about anytime package;
"Non-geographical numbers (0845 & 0870) Inclusive at all times
(Calling cards, indirect access and dial-up Internet numbers are excluded)"
So I guess this exclusion means it won't be available to me despite having the free 0870 package?

What's your point I don't get it? I don't think they "Spy" on numbers but obviously they will have some sort of record when someone dial their numbers.
As far as listening to the calls is concerned so I don't think they are legally allowed to do that. Even if they do what benefit are they going to get when someone is talking to their family abroad, most likely in a language they wont even understand.
Offcourse the service is funded by the "Service Charge" that they charge the landline and mobile providers but customers don't pay for it if 0870 numbers are inclusive in their tariff. How else do you think one can afford to pay for the outgoing leg of the call?
They have explained all this in their FAQ's.

If you pay more than £12 a month for your international calls (I know people you used to pay more than £50 a month) then you can get Virgin Mobile's sim for £12 a month sim only contract. It gives you unlimited calls to 0870 numbers so you would be able to use this service. You can always cancel the sim only contract by giving Virgin a 30 days notice if you are not happy with the service or for any other reason.

Most landlines and some mobile service providers give inclusive minutes to 0870 numbers within your monthly bundle. So if your service provider allows you to call 0870 numbers within your free/inclusive monthly bundle then you can take advantage of this service and make FREE international calls.
marinaducros1

not completely free as by the time i pay standard charge to 0870 and 13p per minute to them it comes more than what i will pay from my mobile directly calling abroad.
I use http://www.viber.com/en/ Viber and i have it on my mobile so does almost everyone in the world and it is 100% free
hukdlr
23 Apr 16#38
You don't have to pay any charges as long as you have calls to 0870 numbers included in your monthly bundle. If you don't then there is no point in using this service as it would cost you more compared to other alternatives.
As far as Viber etc are concerned so not everyone has has got a smartphone or access to fast internet connection. There are still a lot of countries that don't have high speed internet for Viber etc to work for calls. Good as an alternative though.

With EE, some older tariffs have calls to 0870 numbers inclusive so check your online account to see if you have such a bundle/ add on. If you are a light user then you can get an "add on" from EE where you get 300 minutes for £3 per month. Have a look HERE to find how to get it.
Regards to Virgin Landline or any other landline, if 0870 numbers are inclusive in your package then you don't pay anything. One will only have to pay the 13ppm service charge (plus access charge from their provider) if 0870 numbers are not part of their package.
I have a lot of family members who have been using this service from their Sky, BT, Virgin and Post office landlines and they don't pay a penny. It's all inclusive. I can't give you any assurance regarding SSE Talk or PlusNet as I don't know anyone who use them. Hope his helps.
Is it free if your calling both a mobile and landline number?

Since you seem to be promoting the service or a affilitated, I thought I would add my 2 cents.
Firstly the company aqtelecoms is a made up company and does not exist on companys house, the registered address on the Whois is a for a mail forwarding service, thats very suspicious.
Secondly the FAQ says its provided by Service provider: Evolcom, 22 WENLOCK ROAD, LONDON, N1 7GU, firstly the address is a mail forwading address again with same provider just a different address used. Secondly Evolcom on google comes back as some Italian Comms company which again has a unworable site.
The site seems to be poorly codded and looks like its been created by an person rather then a real company. Evolcom seems to be run / owned by a Greek individual who again uses a forwading address for the registration. Need I go digging more, I could find out where his server is hosted and how he connects the calls, not very difficult but again, each to there own and if people really want to use and risk their privacy. Well each to there own
hukdlr
23 Apr 16#47
I am just sharing the service as everyone does on this site when they find something useful.
The company "AQ Telecoms Ltd" is indeed registered. Have a look on Companies House website HERE
Evolcom is also UK registered company. Have a look on Companies House website HERE. I am not sure what you are looking at but a quick google search brought up http://www.evolcom.co.uk which seems to be written in perfect English to me.
Does it really matter if the person who owns or runs AQ Telecoms or Evolcom is Greek? They could well be sister companies who knows. Lycamobile is owned by a Sri Lankan guy so should that raise any eyebrows?
No need to go into more digging as your JCB is just being overly suspicious. In this country I don't think there are many organisations who don't ask for your contact number if they are providing you any service. So far in the last 6 months I have only received one marketing SMS from them only to inform me about their new number on the website.
Take a chill pill matey and enjoy the free calls
By the way the only reason I know a lot about this service is that I have been an active user for more than 6 months. I have been asked all sorts of questions by my friends and family when I told them about it so have read almost the whole website to the core.

, I have free 0870 landline minutes. how actually to use this service? dial 0870 prefix to intl number?
hukdlr
23 Apr 16#55
Dial any of the 0870 numbers on the website, listen to the prompt and then enter your destination number. Just make sure the country you are calling is allowed.
If there are a couple of numbers that you call regularly then you can ask them to setup your own 0870 numbers for you that will connect to the international numbers you provide them. That way you won't have to enter your international number again and again. Just dial the 0870 number given to you and your international number will ring. Hope this helps.

does virgin media's talk weekend m package include these 0870 calls? looked on the site but it said there was a service charge, but im hoping thats just for during the weekdays
hukdlr
24 Apr 162#69
The "Service Charge" and "Access Charge" are only applicable if someone calls when 0870 numbers are not included in their monthly bundle or they call out of allowed hours. As you have the weekend package so it should be free from your line during the weekend. If you call during weekdays then yes you will be charged by Virgin. Just to be on the safe side make a few seconds test call to one of the 0870 numbers on the website and check your online bill an hour later. Virgin are usually pretty quick to update itemised calls.
By the way if you make a lot of international calls then if I am not wrong you can add an 0870 calls "add on" to your existing package for £2 extra per month that you can cancel anytime by giving Virgin a 30 days notice. That would allow you to call 0870 numbers 24/7. If you login into your Virgin media account and check under "upgrades" there should be something there. If not have an online chat with Virgin and they will give you the latest info. Hope this helps.

Three mobile don't offer free/inclusive calls to 0870 numbers but you can use your Sky landline. Just make sure that you don't call during restricted times i.e. call during weekdays when infact you are on the weekend package. If it's worth it then you might as well just upgrade your landline call plan to "Anytime Extra" for £8 per month (payable to Sky) which would allow you to call 0870 numbers 24/7.

27 Apr 16#81
I'm sure TalkTalk changed their tariff so that 0870/0845 calls aren't included in free mins or if they are then there is a connection charge
hukdlr
27 Apr 161#82
Yes they did, last year in July.
If someone calls these 0870 numbers when they are not inclusive in their monthly call plan then they will have to pay "access charge" which goes to their landline/mobile service provider. Access charge varies, different providers charge different amount.
They will also have to pay "service charge" which goes to the 0870 service provider. In this case it would be 13 pence per minute.
So if one doesn't have 0870 numbers included in their monthly call plan then they will be charged "access charge" and "service charge". There is no point in using this if 0870 numbers are not free in someone's call plan.

Have a look HERE on Virgin website. If you look, all tariffs over £10 have a "+" sign infront of them and if you check at the bottom of the sim only deals it says the "+" signs means "Includes calls to 084 and 087 numbers".
You are probably on one the older tariffs? If you are then you can call and upgrade, they will offer you fantastic deal if you threaten to leave.
You can also make a few seconds test call to any of the two numbers available on MakeFreeCalls website and check your online bill an hour later to see if you have been charged or not.

O2 Pay Monthly - Free of Charge 0870 Numbers

28 Apr 16#89
Sorry, what do you mean by your comment?
If you are saying that 02 include calls to 0870 numbers in their monthly allowance then I don't think that is correct and would advise you to double check. They do however include calls to some 0870 numbers for some Government organisations if I am not wrong but not all 0870 numbers are inclusive/free.
Opening post

Edit: I think i've just found the answer to my question. I searched the numbers on the WeQ4U website and it says that number is not in their database.
Have been with Talktalk solely for their 500 minutes Global boost add on for £5.
At least now I know there is a viable alternative if I wish to leave so thanks op.
Virginia media and Sky are looking more appealing but it's a shame that TalkTalk now charge for 0870 numbers.
I also have the TalkTalk mobile sim aswell so unfortunately can't benefit from this at the moment.
Heated anyway
I use http://www.viber.com/en/ Viber and i have it on my mobile so does almost everyone in the world and it is 100% free
As far as Viber etc are concerned so not everyone has has got a smartphone or access to fast internet connection. There are still a lot of countries that don't have high speed internet for Viber etc to work for calls. Good as an alternative though.
Here are two another services which you can use to make free international calls
http://www.inclusiveinternationalcalls.com/
http://www.my0870.co.uk/
Well each to there own
The company "AQ Telecoms Ltd" is indeed registered.
If there are a couple of numbers that you call regularly then you can ask them to setup your own 0870 numbers for you that will connect to the international numbers you provide them. That way you won't have to enter your international number again and again. Just dial the 0870 number given to you and your international number will ring. Hope this helps.
or can i save intl number in my phone as illustrated on the webpage-
For example to call Mr XYZ in India, please save his number in your address book as:
1. 08702186859,,0091234567890 (The two commas indicate a double pause)
just curious.
(Calling cards, indirect access and dial-up Internet numbers are excluded)

By the way if you make a lot of international calls then if I am not wrong you can add an 0870 calls "add on" to your existing package for £2 extra per month that you can cancel anytime by giving Virgin a 30 days notice. That would allow you to call 0870 numbers 24/7. If you login into your Virgin media account and check under "upgrades" there should be something there. If not have an online chat with Virgin and they will give you the latest info. Hope this helps.
This sounds like a really good deal to be missing out on.
Heat added!
Take the plunge, trust me you won't be disapointed
See here for more information
If someone calls these 0870 numbers when they are not inclusive in their monthly call plan then they will have to pay "access charge" which goes to their landline/mobile service provider. Access charge varies, different providers charge different amount.
They will also have to pay "service charge" which goes to the 0870 service provider. In this case it would be 13 pence per minute.
So if one doesn't have 0870 numbers included in their monthly call plan then they will be charged "access charge" and "service charge". There is no point in using this if 0870 numbers are not free in someone's call plan.
EDIT:
I think I've answered my own question - when I go to 'view my bill', it shows me that my package (Essential, £15) has an access charge of 36ppm.
You are probably on one the older tariffs? If you are then you can call and upgrade, they will offer you fantastic deal if you threaten to leave.
You can also make a few seconds test call to any of the two numbers available on MakeFreeCalls website and check your online bill an hour later to see if you have been charged or not.
If you are saying that 02 include calls to 0870 numbers in their monthly allowance then I don't think that is correct and would advise you to double check. They do however include calls to some 0870 numbers for some Government organisations if I am not wrong but not all 0870 numbers are inclusive/free.
