Free Day out on a Canal Boat - Sunday 17th April - Various locations
We are delighted to be able to offer the chance to get afloat for free and find out more about canal boat holidays at 19 of our bases across England and Wales on Sunday 17 April 2016.
The events offering free short trips on skippered boats will be running from 11am to 4pm. No booking is required.
It's just a shame that it costs ~£1000 for a week, just for two people! Nice idea though for a free ride even if it is a short trip. Just jealous there's none near me.

I agree - so expensive - be ok if its adults - usually 6/8 berth so shared costs

I can't do boats - I get seasick in rocking chairs, lol. However, your quoted price intrigued me. Maybe I'm reading it wrong but Hoseasons appear to be offering boats for a week for about half that in April (I didn't look for other dates, I'm not that weird, :wink:)

Quality over quantity, there's a reason you don't see gondolas on there!
It's where they have boating holidays I guess, if you want a cheaper boating holiday consider a cruiser on the Norfolk Broads.

I think you might be reading it wrong. Don't confuse any old boat as a canal boat. Granted they have cheap holidays if you don't pick a 'narrow boat'. If you really have found one cheap then please give a direct link.
