Noticed this pop up on my Wii U this morning, the game is out today so a great opportunity to try this random Pokemon/Tekken crossover.
Pokken Tournament is a unique fighting game starring Pokemon. Players can use their favorite Pokémon characters to battle it out in fighting arenas.

Kind of pointless to release a demo on its release day but since Amazon's not delivered yet I'll try the demo.

Ah that's annoying, have they dispatched it? I find sometimes their deliveries don't show up till the end of the day which is kinda annoying when you're waiting for a game that's just come out!

its not pointless, I'd rather have a demo for a game I'm on the fence about on day one than not at all. Thanks op

Oh, just received my order from Amazon!
It's not meant to be. It's a freebie.

Thanks mate. Sounds like a future purchase. Some people are claiming the pad is as good as the Saturn pad. Think I will need to try it.

Hence why it's under "Freebies"...

Beating the $h1t out of those annoying Pukemon? "Pika, pika, pika, pika, pika!" Shut the f*#% up you annoying rat!
I played the very bare demo. It's alright, nothing special and not a patch on Smash Bros..

I like fighters, but think I will wait for a price drop. How is it GamerU? Comparable to SF?

It's based on Tekken's engine but the game itself feels like its very own creation than a clone which is great. Something that I'm a bit sour are the graphics are a bit of a letdown but whatever.

Oh, the gameplay videos make the graphics look good. How is the first part of the battles with the ranged attacks, does it feel gimmicky?

It doesn't feel gimmicky at all. I've played various online matches and everyone has their own strategy, either doing physical attack combos that can last for a good amount of hits (depending how good they are at it) or beam attacks.
The graphics suffered a downgrade but in return the game runs without any framerate drops from what I've noticed so that's fine. Anyhow, it looks like this:
Also, I've tried the Wii U Pro Controller with this game but my fingers don't recognise it like they do with the Gioteck GC-2 (practically a clone of an Xbox/GameCube controller). WUPC is perfect for Mario Kart 8 though. Oh, one last thing, the Hori Pokkén Controller is the "proper" controller of Pokkén but without an analogue stick it could leave some players at disadvantage.

Awesome, I'll get the kids to try it, they have been interested in it since the announcement.

It ain't supposed to be compared to Smash anyway. I'll try out the demo as it's on my Wii U.

Anyone tried the Pro Controller with the demo? Only seems to work with the gamepad for me :disappointed:
