I love the idea of these. This middle aged fatty is hoping to be fit enough for his first Parkrun by May! My Endomondo training plan runs to April but I suspect it'll take me longer :/

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo If the urge to do something as crazy as that I have a watch and every park in the country is free to get in so free anyway, but it wont so panic over  will look for a list of these parks though and open up a cake stall with nice big comfy chairs

I'd just add that for anyone worried about their level of fitness before attending a first parkrun, this time of year is for obvious reasons usually a period where more newbies start.
If you are REALLY self-conscious about being the least fast person there, or walk/running around the 5K, have a look at the results page of your nearest parkruns - some have hundreds of parkrunners which truly covers all abilities. You may be surprised to see that there are others who really are doing the 5K in a similar pace to you (fast walking pace would get you round somewhere in the 40-45 minute range), and most parkruns have a tail runner to keep you company if you are at the back (check the volunteer page to see if that is likely to be the case at your local event).

I've done our local one since I helped start it up! Yes I'm biased, but it caters to all and all are welcome.
