I have just signed up myself and registered for a .com domain, with free hosting for a year. After the first year cost is around £35 for domain and hosting package. But you can cancel 31 days prior to the current 1 year deal finishing, and no payment details are required for this deal! Your website can be up and running within minutes, mine was. Get registering your name now...

Good way to get started, but considering you'd usually want a domain for more than 1 year there are definitely much better deals for the longer term. Personally I'd recommend the always low priced Namecheap for registration (£7.50pa for .com) and TSOHost for the hosting (£14.99pa). You won't go wrong with these as a starter. There are cheaper alternatives for sure but these should provide the reliability you'd want for a business website.
Also, if you get a domain name for your business please, please take the effort to learn how to link it to your email. There's nothing more unprofessional than "visit our website; http://www.abcplumbing.co.uk, email us at [email protected]".

Looks like there is a catch - if you don't stay with them they'll charge you £12.90 (everywhere else I've used lets you transfer out for free).

Easyname site is poor in places. Keeps changing to German, and much of the English looks like someone has run the native German through google translate.
From your control panel, try going to "My Domains", then "External Domains" and half the page is English and half German. Not very good.

I'd imagine they'll register you as the owner, so this fee would only apply if you want to give/sell the domain to someone else, or change from personal to business ownership. Transferring to another provider should only incur the £12.90 fee. I believe change of ownership has a statutory levy imposed by ICANN/Nominet (TLD-specific), but it's definitely not usually as high £45 as I've done it recently for a bulk load of domains.
