You can search for up to 50 postcodes per day without any charge.

I voted hot BUT you type an address into Google search and it does the exact same thing plus it gives you a map too.

I'm not going to drive around the country delivering cards :wink: It's handy to get all the postcodes on one site. Cheers for the vote though :smiley:

I have used RM postcode finder, never thought of typing into Google. Brill' and a lot quicker than using RM.

I work at Royal Mail (Data Entry) and adding post codes to your letters makes it easier and quicker to process your mail and that means your letters/parcels will get to their destination quicker. Also if you could write in block letter its less likely we will enter the destination address incorrectly.

Writing it in legible, large letters would also help the postman be able to read them too.
The amount of Christmas cards that don't get delivered because they can't be read is huge.
People might think it's cute to let your 3 year old write the address on an envelope - chances are it won't get delivered.

If you run a site that sells jumbo jets, 50 orders is a good day. :wink:
In all seriousness, there are plenty of CMS that don't need 50 searches a day, such as small repair shops. If the limit is reached, they would go back to manual entry. If they go over 50 regularly, the dev can offer a paid-for service.

all major companies buy address data from royal mail and boy are they charged for it. utilities, for example pay tens lof thousands of pounds a year for this data. trust me I worked in one.
for personal use this has always been free but limited. I always use this tool to ensure my mail is sent to the paf address.
