I do love Experian's set of morals : steal your personal data without your express consent, then demand a ransom to see it again. I'm sure there's this gang in Romania doing a similar thing with these phishing e-mails - but at least they're um...'legit' criminals.

Just gives you score by the way - does not show credit history - lenders use their own criteria so score alone is not that useful - but saying that its free

Would I have to call up the Experian call centre to cancel this service? I had to last time I signed up for a free report, and it took an age (and was probably expensive, too).

Been waiting for mine since friday,got an email today saying its done,logged in it isnt :/

Another free credit checking website is http://www.clearscore.com I have done it myself. There's no trial. You don't even need to put your card details

i dont care about reputation on here, check out my deals, i post hot and very cold ratings, usually around things a like or do, it takes as long to post a deal as it does to make a comment.

The banks do use their own criteria but the phrase "a credit score is a credit score" doesn't chime with the weird credit world I'm sorry to say.

I don't know if they still offer it for new customers, but I get access to Experian's credit monitoring service with my capital one card.

There is another free credit checking website - clearscore

the point I was getting at is a credit score is a credit score, whether you pay for it or not, the data they use is all largely the same, and banks use their own metrics anyway, so the score you get from one will by and large be the same as from another, it is just a good indicator

Good news, I currently pay £14.99 per month for my Experian and I have a Barclaycard so will try and cancel today.

I have a barclays account and a debit card but not a credit card which I assume barclatcard is, can I still do this?

Getting a technical error at the moment, anyone else?

You can get £5 cashback, for taking a free trail of this via Quidco. I did it a few months back, just need to remember to cancel the trail after a month, which was no problem to do just a phone call, no hassle.

Yeah I saw this when I paid my bills before the weekend, will check back to see if it's come through yet.

This is brilliant. I just finished a free trial with them and would have kept the service if it wasn't so expensive. Good find ,have some heat :smiley:

Thanks, didn't know about this. It's under Accounts & Services on the main Barclaycard page, by the way.

Direct through Barclaycard - you login as normal go to the 'Transfers and Offers' at the top of the page then click the 'Experian Credit Score'

I believe it then automatically updates your score/graph every month until you 'cancel' the request - all at no cost.

Update - It updates every 60 days and plots any change on the graph.

Yep gives you the actual score and graph etc

can u check the score too or just search? few days back I checked but the site told me it's on last stage to launch! gonna check in home. :smiley:
