The only downside to this is you don't get the reward nights which is effectively 10% off

Raised all the prices by 10% or more compared with Expedia which is the same company.
So this is not a deal but a con.

Hotels.com deals tend to be useless. I had to uninstall their app from my phone because they would constantly send me notifications about 10% off voucher codes that were no good at all once you read the terms and conditions. Likewise, they'd constantly e-mail me with the same offers.

Hotels.com have a habit of doing promotions that give with one hand and take with the other. Oh you can have this 10% off voucher, but you can't have your 10% contribution towards your reward nights. Yeah I'll gladly rush my booking today to take your 10% offer and give it right back to you!

So I'm not surprised they raised their prices by 10% when they added 10% extra cashback, because it fits right in with their other offers.
