This stuff is not fit for purpose. You will regret the time wasted.
Using this would have taken over 20 hours for a job that should take 1-2

Please explain why, does the grit fall off? The reviews on Amazon are all contradictory!

Right basically it's just extremely poor quality in all aspects. Paper tears easily in a sheet sander. Is useless for hand sanding (but not really it's purpose admittedly). Clogs up almost instantly when using in a sheet sander even with a proper vacuum cleaner attached. Loses it's grit EXTREMELY quickly, yes cap, and yes extremely.
When it didn't tear my sheet sander covered about 30cm x 10cm of finished old oak worktop before needing to change the sheet, the sheet was clogged, the sheet was basically bare.
Compare this to a metal mesh sheet which covered about 5metres squared, and some B&Q own brand sheets that covered about 2.5m x 2m per sheet, even that was just due to being clogged the actual grit was more or less intact.
TL-DR...
Just save yourself the hassle, I wished I'd have listened. Yes the normal stuff costs 4-5 times the price but this is where penny pinching will not be helpful in any way.

If using in a sander with a hoover attachment I don't actually think it would work well as there are no holes for dust and debris to pulled through and you'll end up with all the dust staying on surface of material and then clogging up paper.

Best thing todo is buy this and buy some proper stuff. Use this, then when you realize how bad it is, get the proper stuff out, if you're happy with this you can always return proper stuff back to B&Q etc  (that won't happen though).
You'll be so relieved that your sander isn't broken and the sandpaper really is that bad, and the job you are doing isn't really going to take weeks that you won't begrudge the £2-3 wasted on this stuff.

it might be helpful then to post a link to the stuff you would use,i have used this and if you do not try to sand too much too quickly then this is ok,must say tho this grit size sand paper is good enough to sand already undercoated wood to accept the top coat or to sand the gloss coat ro re -gloss again ,but if you are gonna try to use this to sand thru a few layers of paint to get to bare wood then no,you will get what others have said grit falls of and the paper shreds

I went for the B&Q 1/2 size sanding sheets 40 grit, 120 grit and finish with 240 grit metal mesh.
The metal mesh especially is amazing stuff, it can cut through muck and last for ages of can go on lighter protective coatings and just keep on going.
There isn't the huge range there and it's £8 odd for pack of 5 sheets but only needed 2 of those to get through a kitchen oak worktops that had been oiled 3-4 times over past 8 years.
