I juster orderd the Mayflash Magic NS adapted for the switch, it is incredible and it works flawlessly with PC too. Check it out if you don't want to buy anymore controllers for the Switch.

Does this allow to use PS4 controller with Switch?

Have any idea if a 3rd party wiiu pro controller will work? Would prefer to know before picking one up!
Sorry I should have just linked it in the first place. It looks like it went out of stock since I bought it, I did pay £20 for everything included.

Where did you pick yours up from?
Or did you import it from the US?
Edit - Sorry, I should have continued reading. Although, I can't find it for £20....

Why couldn't they just build a decent Pro controller?

they did. it's just bum clenchingly expensive.

Not really. The plus pad should be primary over the thumb stick, it being Nintendo's signature control. Instead they went with essentially an Xbox 360 controller.

These will supposedly work with any switch game as long as it’s up to date.. well any game that doesn’t need analog sticks! For this price you may be better off with the Hori wired pad for £23.99 at Amazon which has these things.

Why didn't they just stick analogue sticks and allow it to be used on multiple games?

It's a replica of the controller on the arcade machine in Japan which doesn't have analogues. It's only meant to emulate the feel of that release really.
