Anyone played this on PC? Are there as many problems as people say or is it just scare mongering? Genuinely torn between ps4 and PC for this one and this is the cheapest I've seen it on either!

I play on PC, runs great, but if you want 4k at ultra even 1080ti won't quite cut the mustard, if at 1080p expect high on a R9 290 / gtx 970, 1070 will be fine for 1440p high

I have the same setup as yourself and run it ultra 1440 with the faAr mod. Never had so much as a dropped frame. The mod is also self updating, one of the better mods I’ve ever seen. All that aside the game is really best played to be appreciated. Plays with your expectations as a gamer. Was a pleasant surprise

Apparently a fair few issues which have not been patched (seems to be have been abandoned), but there is a fan made patch (FAR mod) which resolves most issues. There is also a HD Texture pack. Also has Denuvo DRM if that is a problem for you.

Thanks for the heads up about the fan made fix. Will check it out!
And cheers OP!

I wouldn't buy this for PC. Had it months ago but just plays so crappy even with my gtx 970 (it's not Uber powerful but still a solid card).
I'm waiting for a ps4 deal for Nier now.

I run on 1080p with the FAR mod on ultra and get 60fps no problem with a GTX 1060. If you don't use the FAR mod, cutscenes stutter and doesn't actually run at 1080p.

I get fed up with these AAA titles not fixing their products. Black Flag never did res as well as Fallout. I have so many games niw in played I can't be bothered with companies hoping third party mods fix their rubbish. If it's not the res it's the hud. So I'll purchase this in a year for £5. Hot for price op ...

Normally I would agree but this game is so brilliantly unique it eclipses all technical hurdles. To be fair, that one faAr mod corrects all problems after a quick install, in my experience with it. Having said that you are exactly right, it’s both absurd and unfortunate that they haven’t had the good sense to do something about it and instead saw fit to release a paid dlc bonus mode. What a bunch of bastards

Is the FAR mod easy to install? I'm no expert when it comes to modding.

Yes the faAr mode is handy to install, it is also self updating which is great.

To the people recommending it on console - what does the console version do better? Does it run at a higher resolution? Better frame rate? Better graphics? Can you not use a controller on PC? Why get it on console over PC?

PC version is abandoned at launch with no patch unlike console which has been updated. PC version is badly optimised with frequent fps drop(speaking as someone with GTX970, it really should be stable 60fps). you full-screen mode is locked at 900P, frequent random crash/white screen(it seems you either get it or dont randomly). FAR mod fix those problem except the crash but it still an insult to customer. i refunding my steam version to get PS4 version because of this and random crash

PS4 version is 900p (PS4 Pro is 1080p) and doesn't maintain a steady 60 fps either, so it's just not a well optimized game.
I do agree about the support for the PC version being abysmal though.
