Cook the perfect steak (or perfect anything) with Sous Vide method. This was approx £130 on Instant Pot website, I set an alert for £90 on camelcamelcamel and it hit £69.95! Not got an Instant Pot? I dont see any problem attaching to a large container Bargain ps its as quiet as a mouse from the youtube videos I've watched, unlike other Sous Vide attachments

How on earth did people manage before these things were invented? :unamused:

Doesn't see so cheap though.
I bought the Anova, with wifi and bluetooth, for £75 last week. Seems a much better device.
So tempted...already use the Instant Pot all the time.

There was a deal on official website. I bought mine for 74 pounds last week as well. To be fair, it is just a stock clear out before they release the new gen 3
This one will do much more if you are cooking for the family.
They both have loose fitting but secure lids that I am going to cut to allow the Anova to fit snuglty through them to minimise water loss through evaporation. I left the smaller one full of water and increased the temperature a few degrees at a time until it reached 90 degrees C and I left it at that for 15 minutes. The plastic did not melt but it did soften and bulge very slightly due to the weight of the volume of water and it was obviously hot to the touch so needs to be somewhere no one would accidentally touch it or knock it over. I just need to find something to use as racking when using he larger one to allow free movement around each sealed bag.
Currently at £1.50 and £2.00 they are much better value than anything I have seen especially made for doing sous vide with the wand type cookers.

I use Rubbermaid. Yes more expensive but superb quality and probably more cost effective in the long run. Really thick and robust and a lid that secures fully and easily.

Interesting, hadn't considered a plastic container.

Amazon do this one in polycarbonate that will probably not bulge at the higher temperatures like the polypropylene one from Wilko but look at the price :astonished:
I was hoping we'd get to 135 degrees- the perfect steak.
Anyone out there with friends who can push this deal over 100 degrees?
thanks

Expensive, but I do love my Instant Pot... Definitely hot from me though.

A few times I've done belly pork and steak in a pressure cooker and then barbequed it or seared in a dry pan and I like it even more than the sous-vide.

Sure, depends on how you like your Pork, I perfer "fall apart/fall off the bone ribs" personally.
I think folks in an ideal world would benefit from.
• Instant Pot • Sous Vide • Weber or 'Knock off' • Gas for stir fry AND BIR! • Halogen oven for.... chips • sandwich maker or George Forman grill • a dishwasher, it saves Marages  again thanks for Folks for pushing this deal over 100, my first deal for a while, I appreciate the Love

That's exactly how it is after pressure cooking. It's amazing. You can reduce it to an almost watery slush and then get an amazing Maillard reaction crust on it.
If anyone runs out of sous-vide bags and needs something to use then oven roasting bags work well as they're fully waterproof. I tried loads of Ikea bags and things but they were naff and pour-and-store bags are ok if you suck the air out.

Rah! That's the ticket. I've messed about with doing some fun things after the sous-vide, even using a weed burner to finish off meat. Best results have been just using a barbeque chimney starter because it's crazy quick rather than doing a full thing. Urrghhhh... I want juicy, juicy meat so much now :disappointed:
