If you're looking for a standalone Sat Nav this one gives a good balance between quality and price. While it just misses out on "Best Buy" on Which?, the price here is what sealed the deal for me. It's a good chunk cheaper than it's peers at the moment, and at it's lowest price yet on camelcamelcamel.
Note that the discount is on the "Western Europe Lifetime Maps and Traffic" model. This means that "it comes with free lifetime map updates for the UK, Ireland and Western Europe (24 countries) and free Garmin Digital Traffic alerts".
Ad to preempt possible comments... if you're NOT looking for a standalone Sat Nav, you may wish to use a free app on your smartphone! :relaxed:
Note bene, this is under "Today's Deals" on Amazon, so I expect the deal will be gone by tomorrow.......
I'm tempted by that... edit: actually I'm going to give it to my wife, and she probably doesn't want a refurb

Is it lifetime traffic? Do you have to connect it to your mobile phone to get Traffic information?

edit: No, I was wrong. As @mutav said here, you DO NOT have to connect it to your phone to get traffic information with this model. __________________________________________________________ Which? says "Live traffic information is available only when the Garmin DriveSmart 50LMT-D is linked to a smartphone with a shared data and internet connection.".

While that's true for the models with 'Smartphone Link Traffic', for this deal "Box Contains
Garmin DriveSmart, Vehicle suction cup mount, Lifetime traffic antenna/vehicle power cable", so in this case the traffic information comes via Long Wave radio signals and is captured by the Lifetime traffic antenna cable. I had an older Garmin model that worked that way - no smartphone needed

There is no single best buy. The way Which? works is that there are a selection of best buys.

I have the DriveLuxe version of this and it’s a pleasure to use. Very good maps and proactive directions with great visuals on approach to junctions. Mine has the traffic receiver built in to the car charger so no need to connect to mobile.

After thinking about it, maybe I might look into an Android Headunits instead for about an extra £100. You end up with Sat Nav, Bluetooth for phone calls or playing music from your phone, phone mirroring if you decide, usb connection. Some of them you can add reverse cameras, dash cams etc. 2 totally different products, I know but just in case, has anybody used an Android Head Unit or know any recommended models?

Hijacking the thread but I have an Android head unit and been using it for a few years.
Bluetooth microphone isn't great. They are good and I'd buy another in a flash but they are jack of all trades, master of none type of devices.
I use it for music and sat-nav mostly. I get to use Google maps which is great. It has its own internet connection (modem add-on).
As for this deal, I've been given my dad's tom-tom with its maps deleted somehow. If I can't get that working today I may buy this for him.

I like Garmins however the (pre smartphone) traffic system has always been awful. I've been sat in jams for 2 hours that the Sat Nav said didn't exist. Not sure if the Smartphone link will be any better but it will use your data too don't forget. Prefer the older style Garmin as the screens are brighter and speedo way easier to read. Bought a 51LMT recently but sent it back because of it - that and it sent completely me the wrong way on more than one occasion.
