Thought this was a fab free afternoon out with the kids (and for big kids) over half term. Waterside is the new home of the Cosgrove Hall Films archive! We're celebrating with an exhibition featuring your favourite Cosgrove Hall characters, including Danger Mouse, Bill and Ben the Flower Pot Men, Noddy, and many more. Expect to see original puppets, story boards and props being exhibited together for the first time, alongside behind-the-scenes insights into the creative processes that brought this array of beloved characters to the screen.
The Cosgrove studio was founded by Brian Cosgrove and Mark Hall in 1976 and quickly became the UK's largest animation house. Cosgrove Hall Films produced quality animation by bringing together some of the biggest talents, puppet-makers, actors and animators in the UK to create, adapt and produce popular animations, including Noddy, Animal Shelf and Postman Pat.
They also brought characters from popular childhood fiction to life in animations such as Roald Dahl's The BFG (1989), Kenneth Graham’s The Wind in the Willows (1983), and Terry Prachett’s Truckers (1992).

I feel a sense of duty to go and see this, considering most my childhood I was called Penfold :nerd: I hated that nickname until I embraced it and became "penny",
Looking back at it now, it was all "character building" :sunglasses:

John Squire of The Stone Roses worked there for a while. I am tempted to go as at least it's something 'new' from them for once (I don't count All For One, that were crap)

I'm such a big Chorlton And The Wheelies fan that i'm tempted to come up from London for this. Anyone know what the nearest station is and how far to walk from there?
