This type of thing has been going free for yonks, so I'm surprised it's not been previously posted. Here goes...
Manchester Library (and many other nation wide libraries, no doubt) gives free audiobooks, ebooks and e-magzines to it's members. This also covers Blackburn with Darwen, Blackpool, Bury, Bolton, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside and Trafford.
Apps are available on iOS and Android to access the services. Borrowbox has the ebooks and audiobooks - it's not a vast library like Audible, but there's enough to keep you busy. RBdigital has the e-mazagines, I've just got T3 and Wired.

That's a temporary membership number (it starts with UNREG). You need to pop into a library to complete the registration. I live in Cheshire, and didn't have any issues.
Been posted several times but good to remind people. i did it when it was first posted and it saves me a small fortune in magazines even although I do still buy a couple of monthlies. Great to be able to skim through magazines that I wouldn't necessarily want to subscribe to

I’ve got a choice of magazines from 2013 (Grimsby, Lincolnshire) I’m guessing they don’t make newer editions available?

Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds libraries (so presumably nationwide) give free access to Naxos Music Library (online music streaming) which is a surprisingly impressive selection of classical albums. It's not only from the Naxos label, but includes most of the major labels as well. For classical music it includes almost everything that Spotify has, but much better organized & easier to search.
