These are actually the same manufacturer. Finlux and Toshiba TVs are both made by Vestel

It's a good price for a 4k 65" but it will be a poor picture especially sd

Be honest, SD looks terrible on any HD screen. If you're buying a 4k set, chances are you won't be consuming much SD content to worry about it.

Sorry I disagree my SD picture looks fine on my TV, but it will look terrible on this as I can't see the upscaling processing being any good in this TV set
Gentle_Giant to Damienzz

It comes down to the TV's upscaling capabilities; a lot of TVs, cheap or expensive, are not good at this. Since even 1080p TV is not common in the UK, when we went out looking at 4K TVs, the upscaling was the very first thing we checked. both of the £600 LG 4K TVs we have are excellent at upscaling. Not long after purchase I ran across an episode of MASH - it looked like it had been digitally updated, the picture was so good; even better than it looked on our older 720p TV.
Back to Finlux.
Back in the day (1970's), the brand was considered top end; sadly this is no longer true and their products are mostly rebranded tat, similar to the Techwood mentioned earlier. I have yet to find a Vestel made TV that was worth more than the card board box it shipped in.

Before you post sarcastic actually have a clue what your talking about. A SD picture will be upscaled to whatever your Tv is compatible of but in no way will it be 720p. My Tv will upscale to 1080p but compare that to a a true 720P hd picture the difference is night and day its not a HD picture it doesn't compare to a HD picture. With a 4k Tv watching HD the tv has to upscale to its 4k native res. Cheap Tv's like the finlux do a bad job at that

Your monitor.... it doesn't add any data or information
it converts a coloured pixel into 4 other pixels
Or 2 pixels........
or 8 if you are rich!
maybe it shades those pixels accordingly but I'd prefer just watching it in 480p if that's what it was recorded in
upscaling was PC World selling to people who didn't need it
Smadmad to HuffPropane

It will be upscaled unless it's a native 480p monitor.

i wanted to love dawn penn but she said "... an unlikely £1499 on amazon I would disagree on any SD "looks awful" not great perhaps but still entertaining (depending on content) i think it has more to do with the DVB decoder, some do it better as ms penn will surely attest.

You get
what you pay for, personally I would avoid this seeing as you can get the
Toshiba from Costco with an extended warranty for not much more plus, it’s based
on the same Vestel Chassis.
An extended warranty is a must for a Vestel TV.

Thanks for your comment. Out of interest which IPTV provider do you use? I'm seriously thinking of leaving Sky the way they keep putting prices up. Any advice appreciated.
