I agree with reddit, problem is that if an issue occurs trying to communicate with customer service is another Mission itself! I tried many times before in the past.

I have to agree. Even for £5 extra it's still a mini bargain.

Do we have to pay custom duty on top?

No way to know. Probably not but with any parcel coming in to the UK theres a chance that it may be stopped, opened and assessed for VAT and Duty,.

I got caught with a package from the US worth just under 20 quid just a couple of weeks ago £12.48 bill via Royal Mail :-( It is only the second time it has happened, and wouldn't have minded so much but it added about 3 weeks to the delivery time too! Got a package from the same source yesterday, and I had only ordered it on Saturday.

Yes. And it's still cheaper for us to buy. Not crazy at all.

Not really Gearbest will buy in bulk and get a volume discount and they won't have to pay VAT as its leaving the UK so there cost is lower, I don't think you'd by paying VAT on it (unless as I mentioned above it gets stopped and assessed by customs) .

Another user on this site before pointed out that these are actually manufactured in China and in the UK and there are allegedly differences.
The forum thread you've linked from 2012 refers to the original Raspberry Pi not version 3...
Do you have any relevant information please?
EDIT: Never mind, deal expired *Cries*

Sorry I don't have a credible Source, I found a few people making comparisons on Reddit at the time when I read the comment but it was pretty informal. This guy has done some comparisons on the pi 2 but I can't find much on the Pi 3. goughlui.com/201…uk/
