Cracking price, cheers @me_lee. Same as you i've got the 4200 and could not fault it one bit.

Got one last year from Argos for about this price. Awesome bit of kit. I don't use the frother though.

Put the kettle on before you start and heat the cup with boiled water before you run the esproesso into it!

I have a previous version of this, so don't know if it'll work on yours, but I just give it a shot of hot water from the frother wand, without setting the steam setting. That tip was in my instruction book.

So we had this at work...I used the espresso setting so it was quick, then added hot water from a zip tap...wish I had this super handy set up at home lol
Edit. Voted hot, it wasn't quite this model, maybe one or two up from here, but our office one got hammered daily and rarely broke down

Bought this last week fantastic with beans, you don’t need to add hot water tho just turn the dial to make a larger cup job done, prob get 25 cups from a £2.50 bag of beans so saves money in long run

I've had the 4200 for almost 10 years now pulling 4 double espressos daily, cracking machine, best bean fo cup machine ever.

I wonder if DeLonghi intended to make the ever lasting coffee machine......?! I would of quite happily brought another one after 5 years if it had broke.

Was thinking of getting one of these but this thread has put me right off warm and have to put the kettle on for £200 :disappointed:

I have this machine and its excellent. I pop a bit of milk in the bottom of the cup first, blast in the micro for 20sec then use the machine with a double shot. Nice and hot and quicker than using a milk jug.

Kettle on or microwave to finish your coffee from 200£ machine.... cold obviously

I don't comment often, but I want to say this is rubbish.
Water is never hot enough
Too fiddly, requires alot of cleaning and maintenance.

I dumped it in the bin last month. yes, even at that price

oos and crap boiler/heating element.

I buy and sell used coffee makers including stove top, pod machines and bean to cup and always use them first to make sure they work and even bought myself my own Delonghi bean to cup which I sold in the end as no matter what I try I always go back to Nescafe Alta Rica as its consistent, tastes like coffee should taste like and I dont have to heat my cups or warm it up in the microwave plus it doesnt cost me a few hundred pounds for the machine to be stuck in the corner taking up valuable work top space as a simple kettle does the trick but thats my opinion on having a decent coffee, some people dont like instant and some dont like the messing about of bean to cup hence pods. Each to their own I guess.

well I have had mine for a year. Dont recognise the cold coffee problem but of course you need to heat the milk to get a good temperature. I never use the steamer though. Produces good coffee. Only gripes is you are always having to either empty the grounds, fill the water, fill the coffee etc on a daily basis. great machine imo for the price
