I know. New traditions for a new generation. Nice idea for stuff they might get anyway eg new Christmas PJs, reindeer food, a carrot, a bedtime story etc. Still quite a big box though.

Christmas Eve box? Do you fill it with unrealistic expectations and family tensions gift-wrapped carefully in overdue credit card statements. Oooops, come to think of it I've still got one from last year that I haven't opened.

I’d rather buy my son new Xmas pyjamas & let him where them throughout December. My friends think I’m crazy not doing this new box idea!

I made my own boxes last year, they were easy enough to paint and customize, I add in new Pyjamas, a movie, some snacks and drinks, reindeer food, xmas eve candle, Santa's magic key. It's all stuff to have a family night.

You could put in a Christmas voucher to be redeemed in the boxing day sales?

What I do is lock up the Christmas eve box and have a special night on the 23rd where I give presents and the key.
