This is an excellent radio suitable for AMATEUR RADIO operators.It is NOT SUITABLE FOR PMR446 as you can change the antenna making it illegal for use on PMR. This is a proper radio & NOT a child's walkie talkie. It's the high power version with an expanded battery capacity & it's the cheapest it has ever been.

GT-3TP Mark-III is Upgraded version of GT-3 Mark-II with Tri-Power: High / Med / Low Power Settings (8W / 4W / 1W).
Frequecy Range: VHF: 136-174 Mhz (Rx/Tx), UHF: 400-520 Mhz

(Rx/Tx). Note: Factory defaults frequecy is 140-150/430-440MHz (8W

Output), please reset the radio to reach 136-174/400-470MHz or program

it to reach 470-520MHz (The software is the same as GT-3 Mark-II).
Optimal SQL Setting, Optimal Modulation of TX/RX Power Tube, True 8W Output Power, Up to 11KM effective talking range.
Broad (Wide) / Narrowband (Narrow), High power / low power (5W /

1W), selectable. Selectable Frequency Step: 2.5/5/6.25/10/12.5/25 kHz.
128 Channels 50 CTCSS and 104 DCS, Function Busy Channel Lock

"BCLO", Function "VOX" (Voice Operated Transmission), "OFFSET"

(frequency offset for repeater access).

The radio is legal for PMR use. The radio does not need a licence...the operator needs to be licensed

Im not sure why you have posted this tbh, it is illegal to use, operate and Transmit Radio Equipment without the appropriate Licence issued by the UK Government (Radio Aggency), whether for Amatuer or PMR Frequiesies.

There are servere pentalties for operating without a Licenece.

How would the authorities know if you have licence or not?

How would the authorities police those people who are using these radios without licence?

Do they have enough resources to come down and knock on your door to check if the signal is coming from your house?

I don't think Ofcom who issue the licenses actually go around monitoring amateur radio if you are attempting to communicate with the radio you might find licensed HAM operators will be able to tell you're either not licensed, hold a foundation/intermediate/full licence or misusing your license and have their own observation community they can report you to where you risk a large fine and/or prison time and your equipment taken away if licensed may get revoked
