Am off for a roast tomorrow, so checked the Toby Carvery app/website and they are offering their 2 for £10 carvery deal (offer ends 7th October). You can just show the QR code on your phone.
And yes I will be taking my own plate.
p.s. worth checking any Visa offers e.g. Nationwide, as have a further 10% off which will bring it down to £9

I am right! Go and eat at a Toby before making false claims and then quoting an ex cook employee who could have an axe to grind.......

Well he defiantly didnt have an axe to ground as he still works for M&B as a Trainer...
But knowing how much a roast cost it would seem difficult to make your standard 65% GP margins. Unless they run the McDonalds model who run on a low GP of 23% but rely on mass volume to make their money.. Even then that seems unlikely...

They may just be excellent value for money. Get yourself down there and give them a try.......

Assume you’re not a restaurateur. Carveries are effectively a loss leader as people buy drinks on top, which are highly profitable. I have a family member who worked for the same group (who owns the Toby chain and some others) and the meat is absolutely not reformed - they’re proper, hunking great lumps of meat. Even the mash is made from scratch in the kitchen.
I would take whatever your friend said with a pinch of salt, unless his restaurant has been sub-let to some Farmfoods carvery franchise. Not saying Toby is the best carvery you can get - I can make a *much* better carvery myself) but for a fiver you’d have to be mad to complain.

Do you know what a loss leader is? If so, how much do you think it costs to produce a carvery meal?

And don't forget to take your own sick bags.
Sorry chincho but I've tried 3 or 4 different Tobys and I honestly wouldn't go again if it was 2 for 10p.
I might vote on the price alone but I'm going to have to think long and hard about it before I decide.

If you click a page further it says 7th October - also the QR code in the app says 7th October too. I think the original promo was until end of September but got extended by a week.
