I've been tempted by this phone for a while. At this price... I decided to take the plunge. Killer feature is undoubtedly the mammoth battery life... see the specs below.
There are a few colours available. You can also purchase the global version for about 2 quid more. They seem to be the same on paper, so I assume the only difference is the rom? Someone else may correct me on that. Link to global (black) version: gearbest.com/cel…tml
4g support may be lacking for some as it does NOT have band 20. As far as I'm aware, this means you should still be able to pick up 4g in most cities / urban areas with most networks, but you may be shifted back to 3g if not.

I've had the mi max 1 since December, fantastic phone, planning to get the V2 before the end of the year. Battery life is nuts, screen and build is fantastic, yet to find anything it can't do, love the Miui software. No band 20 but never cause me any issues getting good 4G, I'm on the BT (EE) network in rural Scotland. I'd be tempted with the global rom and make sure it comes factory sealed with the global rom.

Good to hear. I'm based in Ireland, but I travel quite a bit. I believe band 20 is important here too, but I should still have 4G coverage in the cities.

I've had the Max 1 for about a year, been really good hardware wise but I hate MIUI with a passion. Don't want to risk it with Lineage, probably brick the thing!
The Max 2 has a slightly less powerful processor but if you want a big screen phone with decent specs you can't go wrong here.

Problem with Lineage is ongoing support for a specific model is patchy and you don't really have the ease of ota updates. Basically you need to be prepared for a enthusiast experience (bugs, glitches, technical stuff etc) and I'm not all that confident.

I highly recommend this phone to anyone you will be amazed as how much phone you get for your buck.I now have a mi mix which is a flagship but this mi max 2 is not to be sniffted at.

Great phone. Large screen, great battery life and feels solid. Given the size I'll send suggest getting a phone ring to use it without fear of dropping it. Xiaomi build quality is second to none and MIUI operating system is fine. A bargain at this price

These are on ebay for £198 from Ireland. Considering you'd pay VAT and customs on this makes it cheaper from Ireland. @Pspvita I also have a Mi Mix, eager to see the specs of the Mix 2. I anticipate it'll wipe the floor with anything out at the minute.
"Shipping is free (unless you opt for an express service), but you should
factor into your budget import duty - you may be contacted before the
phone is delivered and asked to pay 20 percent of the value on the
shipping paperwork plus an admin fee of around £11."

Maybe different in Ireland? Most people I've talked to said they haven't been asked to pay VAT / customs / import duties. I think if you choose not to ship with DHL maybe it's likely to slide through?

i have this phone the global version in black paid 200 for it it's amazing in every way the screen the camera the battery the speakers the skin so many options.the snapdragon 625 is very underrated it's as powerful as you need people say it's a downgrade on the 650 in the first model but i don't agree as it manages heat better thermal throttling in the cpu and cpu so you get sustained performance.also the built quality is amazing it's high end.if you get the global version you have all google apps fully recommend this phone but please get a tempered glass screen protector and a decent case as the phone is slippy and difficult to handle

The global version should support band 20
