I bought the 8tb two bay version a few days back in the lightning deal mentioned on here. Seems good so far. Easy to setup, reasonably fast, streams 4k movies over wifi to my smart tv. Happy customer.

How do you do that? Can you provide a YouTube link or something thanks in advance!

The ecosystem and apps are slim pickings tho, not a patch on synology or qnap. I had a similar and it advertsied plex compatibility, there is an app there but completely fails to work. good for v. basic network stuff.

Agreed. The wd apps are useless. This is only suitable for very basic networking within the home

Got mine on Friday and set it up at the weekend.
Speed is flying, anyone that has issues with speed copying to/from it, needs to check their network configuration. Copying movie files to the drive was flying along at over 100MB/s (not Mb/s). Tried streaming from it using the DLNA interface to the smart TV and it all played flawlessly.
Yet to play with the mobile app, but for what I want - simple network storage on the network, it works great
