I haven't posted before, but like to check various different Lego deals regularly. I don't usually think that the Lego website is that great for deals, for half price for some of the original Level Packs and Fun Packs is a good deal in my opinion!

The latest sign, if any further were needed, that this is getting cancelled next year. Lego themselves never reduce anything unless they want rid of it.

Have you seen the licences for this and how much money it must print theres no chance of them cancelling it

Except it doesn't. Sales of it - toys to life gaming in general actually - aren't that good, and your average Lego gamer can't get over why there's no Star Wars or Marvel included.
The rumours of it getting cancelled started in March, and since then things have been uncharacteristically cheap. Even the latest sets were reduced to half price within weeks of release, which has never happened before.
One of the sets in the current wave already got cancelled, and when Lego Dimensions went to E3 this year, they announced nothing for the next wave, which again is very unusual. The last couple of packs of the current wave come out in a week or two and then it's wilderness time because there's nothing else announced. They've never gotten to the end of a wave without the first sets of the next wave being known to keep people excited.
And look at the latest licenses they've been getting. A load of '80s movies that mean nothing to kids today, all from the same studios. It LOOKS like they've got loads of licenses, but the same studios owns most of them, so it was a single license, milked for as many properties as possible. I've been loving them because I'm the right age for those movies, but I doubt many of them sold well to a wider audience.
At the moment, everything points to the cancellations rumours being correct.
For my money, their mistakes are releasing too many packs which add no additional game content. Each time they get a license, they want to put out as many characters from it as possible, which is fine, except people don't want to spend £15 on a fun pack which adds no new content because the level pack for that franchise already unlocked all of it, and a vehicle/gadget that they don't need because it has no new abilities. Most of my vehicles are in pieces in sealed bags in a box, because they're useless and there are too many of them.
Part of that will be the same thing which afflicted Disney Infinity. They're having to release characters no one cares about because it's a condition of the license. Infinity had to release characters like Yondu from Guardians of The Galaxy and the ones from the Star Wars Rebels TV show which sold like dogs**t because no one cared about those characters. But they had to because that's what Marvel and Star Wars told them they had to do if they wanted to license. LD will have the same issue.
In the case of LD, if they'd released additional characters as polybags for a lower price, and put all the game content in level packs, things might have been different - I'd have certainly bought more of the extra characters that way.
Or maybe they wouldn't. Maybe people just don't care about collecting toys to play a game.

It's almost certain in will be cancelled after Christmas. It has been noted from numerous sources that most of the development team were moved off the project earlier this year and placed on new full game titles instead. It left only a handful of people working to close out the final wave out this month. LEGO Dimensions was a brilliant idea, and an excellent source of unique characters for the AFOL's, unfortunately the game was dogged by bug after bug and problems with freezing which ruined the enjoyment. The latest version certainly appears the most stable of them all, although it still crashes occasionally, it's no different now to any other LEGO game from TT. It will be a shame if / when it's officially cancelled, but certainly no surprise. Like Ravenheart said, when LEGO themselves begin to reduce a range it is usually because its and end of line.
