Will these help my signal in a room where the Wi-Fi is low and too slow for my xbox

Perfect for that. You just need a spare plug socket near your router and another near the Xbox plug them in and that's about it

Curious about these sort of things.
Can multiple packs be linked together, eg would two of these sets act like a four port switch or hub?
(Not accounting for issues with different mains rings, RCDs, filters etc potentially causing issues).
And they've been around for years, are they mature enough to have standards yet or is it a manufacturer free-for-all?

You can pair multiple sets together, there is pair button which let the devices exchange the keys in between so they can work together securely. I am not sure if different manufacturers devices can work together but I doubt they can.

Could I still pair this, the 600Mbps version, with my existing 500 Mbps version?

According to TP Link they can work together if Adaptor supports HomePlug AV, see the detailed description from their website :
Q: Are TP-LINK AV200,AV500,AV600,AV1200 powerline adapters compatible with each other? Are TP-LINK PLC adapters compatible with adapters of other Brands?
A: TP-LINK AV200,AV500,AV600 powerline adapters adopted HomePlug AV Standard, so they are compatible with each other,AV1200 adopted HomePlug AV2,that is also backward compatible with HomePlug AV standard, which means TP-LINK AV200,AV500,AV600,AV1200 are all compatible with each other. However, the powerline rate will drop to lowest one’s rate when use different AV adapters together.

Contact Amazon because its clearly been lost in transit. Amazon normally deliver within a week or within 2 days if you have prime.

Can I use these to hardwire from BT Smart Hub (newest) with Infinity to another room and hardwire from that to laptop for faster speeds and still have BT smart hub for wireless over house.

I don’t know if anyone else experiences these issues but every like 45 minutes or so these stall for like 1-2 minutes then it’s fine again. I have the one with the range extender built into it.

I have one with built-in wifi and they work without any glitches, make sure you don't have them plugged in surge protected extension (or circuit) as that is not recommended.

Yeah it’s straight into the wall. I updated the firmware and reset them but still get the same problem. When it stalls (stalls on WiFi only, Ethernet connections to it fine) my family thinks I’m tinkering with the internet.

I have a sky Q hub. It sometimes struggles to stream content to my Apple TV via airplay when there’s a lot of other people using my home network. Would this help the streaming side of things?

Sky Q Hub is good router and support around 320Mbit/s of speed, I think it could be your internet speed which is slowing you down, I assume you are on ADSL line and not VDSL.
