I was after a pannier set for my commuter bike. I know a few people that have this model and rate it. This is the only place I've seen it for less than £50, RRP is over £60. Halfords are doing this for £30 but on promotion a further £5 is taken off at checkout.
Note the stock photo on the website is not the item which includes the panniers but the other pictures are correct. Picked this up today click and collect.

Great bag for the price but it only works well with the Topeak rack.

I'd like to get this but only have a cheap`beam: type pannier (from Tesco) - so won't I be able to attach the bag using straps?

You could buy straps and tie it on but what's the point in that.
This one is designed specifically for the matching Topeak rack.
The stock photo on halfotds IS the item, there are mutiple pictures of it. The first being when its NOT extended. "Side pockets fold out to release panniers". Doesnt mention waterproof , so you'd have to use a dry sack for the british weather. Doesnt really say how the release panniers attach. Worth ordering for the price but I'd check these things in the shop. Not voting either way.

I have used these panniers for 3 years for my daily commute (including carting my 14" laptop to and from work) and they are great.
There is a separate made to measure waterproof cover (which I have) for £14-20 (careful to buy the MTX version which extends to cover the panniers once extended).
There is a loop with an adjustable toggle on each pannier to pull close to the rack.
As stated above, you need the matching pannier to make full use of it.

No it really isn't. The photo shows the bag without the folding sides. The photo below is the product you get here.

Try scrolling through them! There is another with the panniers down.

I did! The first image is NOT the same bag as the other two. Honestly, I've reviewed it and compared it to the one in hand. That was the whole point in the post. The first image is the bag with NO panniers, the rest are the correct images.
