Just ordered this for my sister who will be going back to Uni in September. Not sure how strict the validation on the student email address is - it seems to accept anything.
More data than I could find anywhere else for the price, hopefully it helps someone out.

I moved to 3 from talktalk (vodafone), got a good deal but 3s signal coverage is awful, no signal in places I had H+ with talktalk. Will be moving asap.

Did you check area coverage before moving to Three? I get great signal in my area fine

People make assumptions, it's terrible all the networks own shops won't give a free payg sim out unless you top up... how are you meant to test coverage to then contract yourself to them ? If you need to move asap then waiting on a free sim from a website/phone order is a joke...

That's why they have cooling off periods...

Cooling off periods for handsets more like, which is no bad thing with the 'beta' standard of software on phones these days

Maybe they have a ist of approved & accredited list of educational establishments, not some wishy-washy online non-accredited ones. You know what I mean.

maybe their system only expects one dot at the .ac.uk :unamused:
My Son has been trying to get this online with his .ac.uk uni email address and it's not accepting it.

Well I'm in Somerset too and never had an issue with 3 in the last 9 years. My friends on EE cannot say the same.

I am considering this but based on my experience 3 hasn't had the best coverage near me.

Maybe if you give your address your comment might be useful to a handful of people, otherwise we know mobile phone coverage is variable. Please, just stop.

Ok it was bad in Belfast (apart from near Queen's University) and in Somerset I regurally get bad data signal at the same time people I know on EE and other networks have good reception.

Is Three peed off with someone with all these great offers recently

I moved to Three a year ago and have had awful reception at home and on my travels (plus causing battery drain). Now a move back to O2 or Vodafone is on the cards.
Wadda to neversay
8 Sep 17#7
Do you have wifi calling?
CampGareth to neversay
8 Sep 17#8
That happens with any mobile network because there about a billion variables involved in how strong your phone signal is. Unfortunately that makes anecdotal evidence pretty useless.
HHUKD to neversay
8 Sep 17#42
Well if you are in a low signal area for any mobile network your phone will ramp up the power to connect. This is why your battery is draining faster.
As someone else has mentioned already, did you switch on wifi calling on your phone? Three supports this and would cure your problem if you have wifi at home.

The website says you can as long as you're past your minimum term. I'm going to go in store and get myself on it.

So I've just been to the shop and they couldn't work out how to upgrade me. Might be worth waiting a couple of days for them to sort their systems out
Hustler1337 to GS_Dan
8 Sep 17#38
That's odd. Did they give you a reason why they couldn't upgrade? In the meantime, I logged into My 3 account online and clicked on the 'Change Price Plan' option as I'm out of my minimum term and on a rolling monthly contract atm with Three. It won't let me change my plan to anything, saying "You'll need to wait 72 hours before you can change your price plan. You can also buy a short-term add-on if you need extra data immediately.".

Link no longer works anyway, add plan to basket it doesn't ask for email and adds at full price not the discounted price. I've hit expired, someone else needs to do the same
