I recently got one of these while I was in Spain for the tethering as we have no wifi. I was really cheesed off when I got a text when I was there saying I could only use 12Gb of data and anything over that would be charged at 0.78p per MB, I think it was. So to use the 30 Gb would have cost £140. Not happy.

Whilst frustrating, the 12GB on-handset data roaming limit is openly stated in the t&c you agreed to during signup, as is the restriction of no tethering when roaming (although tethering when roaming may function). There is a 9GB limit and similar no roaming tethering applied to PAYG arrangements.

Yes, so obvious they neglected to mention it when ordering over the phone - and the first I knew was a text I got in Spain

Please review the SIM-holder/documentation that was supplied with the SIM. It includes a phrase similar to "use of this SIM card indicates acceptance of our terms and conditions" and provides information where to read those t&c, where the t&c states the limits that presumably you chose not to read. You have around two weeks from first use to assess the product and exercise right of rejection without penalty. After two weeks you may be able to obtain an annulment of the contract if you can successfully show you are vulnerable, for example: if you can prove that you are unable to read.

Mine tracked at £45. TCB agreed it was tracking incorrectly and advised to log a case. Now “on ice” until end of December
