I know nothing about whisky. Would this taste anything like scotch or is it nice? I can only drink Irish or Bourbon cos I was violently sick on Famous Grouse at 13, so can't really drink anything like Scotch.

"was violently sick on Famous Grouse at 13, so can't really drink anything like Scotch". WTF? So you drank Grouse Whisky when you were aged 13 years. I give up as there is no way to have a sensible conversation about your post. Are you at the wind up?

You're winding me up, pal. I'm just asking whether it's got the same taste as a scotch. Different whiskys are produced using different barrels and therefore producing different flavours. I wanted to know if this was made using similar barrels that are used to make scotch. So what's your problem? Boyfriend been nasty to you today?

Hey plonker, I don't know what you are inferring by your final comment, but if I understand correctly, you may be making a reference to my possible sexual preference. Don't go there as you are likely to get banned from HUKD. More intelligent people than you have been banned for much less. So apologies are in order, or edit your post. I can give as good as I get here, but we should never cross certain points.

I'm inferring nothing, pal. Shame that you have to look into it that way. Seems you've got out of the wrong side of bed this morning. Go and have a nice cup of sweet tea and cheer up. And if you've got time today, maybe post a deal and not just post useless comments that are not helpful to anyone. :raised_hand:

I'm no expert but I think scotch is the generic name given to this type of whiskey and not just whiskeys from Scotland. Famous Grouse is a cheap blend which tastes a bit like vodka, this will be much smoother.

Amazon have been cancelling a lot of drink orders (wines) recently.
I hope they don't wel(s)ch on this one.

I agree and I'm from Wales. Penderyn is hype. I tried a few different Penderyn whiskies then I tried Nikka and it thrashed the Penderyn. However I will say that Merlyn which is like Bailey's contains Penderyn whisky and it's amazing. I think it's still £10 on Amazon no it's gone up £1, still worth it >
I would hope the Nikka would win, given it's double the price! :nerd:

As a malt whisky drinking Scot I can vouch for this lovely stuff!!
You will enjoy it if you like a malt.
Chimp14uk better stick to 'jack' tho:-)

When they stick a bombastic word at the end of a whisky it usually means it's a crap version of their mainline tipple.
This is no exception. I really like the regular Penderyn Madeira but this stuff has an acetate flavour I can't get behind.

I bought two bottles from Morrison's a couple of years ago when on offer. I'm a Scotch and Malt drinker. I thought that this stuff was dreadfully, harsh and unbalanced. Not voting as taste is subjective.

Decent enough price, but Amazon generally have it at this price anyway (at least they have for the past 3 months or so)

Mine arrived today. Had few but not really taken to it. A little harsh and overpowering. It's definitely not bad just not what I expected.
Not given up on it though, will have a few tomorrow night see if it grows on me before the bottles finnished.
