heat. it's ridiculous how the price of this was artificially raised to match the Switch version

Probably more due to the lack of copies that exist. Same with Twilight Princess on Gamecube, I sold my copy in 2010 for £50 on ebay!

£40 sounds like the standard price for Nintendo's Wii U titles to me

it is, but this has been out for months at £50.

Depends what you mean by standard. RRP is £50 but of course retailers usually come in under this.

Ok, well I'll let my daughters know about this game and I'll also keep an eye out for it on hotukdeals over the coming months

You could get 1st party AAA Wii U games for £35 at launch without fail. BotW is the exception.

Seeing a sudden influx of second hand copies on eBay at the moment also. Hopefully will cheapen more before Christmas (my gift to myself).

There has been soo many of these made and sold I do not believe for 1 second it should be £40. The game is great and if you have the choice buy it for the Switch at basically the same price if not cheaper. In my opinion the Wii U version will not become rare or become a title that will be worth more money. So only buy if you only have a Wii U and want to actually enjoy playing the game.

Agree, it's not gonna be like twilight princess on wii/gc where the gc version became sought after, I wanted that version to avoid the clunky motion controls of the wii version.

Damn, 40 after all this time. I was lucky enough to get it for £37 at launch, with the official Switch carry case. (yes switch, I got both cause I'm weird.)

This would be my first ever Zelda game. Is it a good place to start and worth the £40?

Yes and yes. Though you'd probably have spoiled he experience of playing there earlier titles as they would not offer as much as this.
If you plan on playing just one Zelda game though... This. Is. It.

Thanks to the wonderful and ever-improving CEMU there's really no need.

It does seem a bit steep for a 6 month old Wii U game... £40?
I am temoted, but is it actually worth it?

It values your game time in both quantity and quality. This is one of the few games that is worth the full whack and will not drop in price thanks to Nintendo's stock control.

Don't do it! You'll fall in love with the sheer beauty of thisgame on Wii U, then end up buying a Switch and the game all over again to get the best version. I did. Doh! :persevere:
