Instagib....my God, just reading that word dragged me back to facing worlds with the orange shock rifles. Gaming at it's peak in my book.

Unreal Tourny was amazing when they first released it, used to love playing the puzzle maps people created. The Spongebob Bedroom arena was awesome too

Don't make games like Unreal Tournament 2004 anymore
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this, I was very exciting about playing this... until I did.. feels more like a badly done fan fiction than the real thing.... Finding populated servers is also troublesome, which is worrying for its future longevity!
Plus it runs like :poop: on my set up, while I do not have the most powerful hardware (an 8gb gtx1070, i5 6400, 16gb RAM) it chews through most games with a decent frame rate, including Quake Champions ...but this game really really struggles to keep a steady let alone high frame rate for some reason!
Worth trying though cause that could just be me :persevere:

Runs fine on mine and my pc is lower spec than yours.
Have you tried is recently as they're always updating it?
But remember, It is still currently in Pre-Alpha

It was probably about 2 months ago I tried it, have been following it on YouTube and it looks awesome, it just didn't "feel" like UT.
Will continue to follow and see how it develops... hope it gets a massive following because in theory I prefer this to what they've done to Quake.
Will try again for sure, if Buzz ever stops posting deals and making me buy stuff :innocent:

Nonsense. I've been playing it for about 2 years on and off and it gets better each time it is updated. It's quintessential Unreal Tournament and runs like butter on a semi-decent graphics card.

Maybe it was the build I played but it most definitely didn't run like butter (or indeed as good as Quake Champions) on my current setup with an 8gb gtx1070 which isn't a slouch and plays most other modern games without breaking sweat. Not nonsense, fact.
I'll try it again in a few months as I said earlier as there may have been problems with compatibility with my card or something as the visuals certainly did not justify the framerate I was experiencing.

Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition still holds up to this day. One of the best first person shooters i have played. Great fun to play with bots.

Puts Quake to shame (actually, Quake is still good but clearly second best compared to UT!)
There is a new version that you can download that is slowly being developed by Epic and the community and it is awesome. UT but with modern graphics. Download it for FREE here:
