"What can I say?." you could mention they are locking pliers / Vice Grips / Mole Grips
Locking pliers are some of the most useful tools you can have. Though many cheap ones the quality is not great, I'm not sure how good the Stanley ones are. The "Mole" branded grips I "borrowed" off my Dad, I don't think they are made any more but they are the best quality. They are 30+ years old and still going strong, where as the cheaper modern ones tend to twist and have bad quality threads. Well worth picking up originals second hand.
Opening post
They also have the 8" for £5.95
